Hill should have been taken out when he had that grimace. I watched his practice pitches, there was still a look on his face that said something was wrong. He wasn’t even close to the same for the couple batters he faced after that.

When was the grimace, and what caused it?

9 walks and an HBP gets you down every time . Errors are called "extra " outs , which you can't afford but BBs and HBPs are 95% as good as singles

Make it 10 walks in 6 1/3rd. SMH

I don’t see how these hitters can lay off pitches that close.

Okay, with all due respect to Harry Doyle, it’s not like the ump has had a tight strike zone. Most of these balls haven’t been close.

5th inning; looked like he twisted his knee on a pitch. He threw a couple of practice pitches and said he was fine, but like I said, I watched his face on those pitches and there was a uncomfortable look on it. His control went to complete crap right after that.

Why in the world are they taking so many fastballs? Begging for walks. Pathetic.

Did Hill grimace after he fell when he made that great play to get the last out in the 3d?

If so, he then threw a perfectly clean 4th inning. Then the wheels came off in the 5th when he gave up a walk and a triple, got an out, then walked Contreras, mound visit, then a single to Happ, then an HBP. Somewhere in there I can agree Hill maybe should have been pulled sooner, but then of course, Danish wasn't much use, ditto Robles, ditto Diekman.

Also, let's talk about the lineup and that brilliant hitting in the 2d to get 3 runs and a 4-0 lead. Story reached on an error, Cordero singled, and Vazquez got walked before JBJ hit the double. Translation: Sampson helped our guys.

Since then, 1 stinking run in 6 innings. Top of the 8th, Dugo singles, and Story, Cordero, and Vazquez all strike out. So let's blame that on Cora as well. Wrong lineup.

Ultimately, of course, every MLB manager stays or goes based on wins and losses and the expectations of his bosses.

Looked like ball four to Vazquez (catchers don’t usually react like that) but your overall point holds.

The most amazing stat in MLB so far this season may be Story's RBI.

If there was a stat for swinging and missing pitchers' mistakes, Story would be near the top.

No, it was during that 5th inning. I don’t recall which batter.

Cubs are a horrible team. Had only come back from 4 runs once all season but they haven't played any games against the Sox s*** bullpen.

The SOX very ineffective BP has provided a smoke screen for the ineffectiveness of two SOX soon-to-be gone hitters.

Who? Bogey and JDM?

Coming into this game Sawamura--surprise, surprise--had the 4th best WAR, +.4, in the bullpen and a June ERA of 2.16. He's been coming back from his earlier struggles.

Coming up in the 9th: Refsnyder, Duran, and Devers. All of them hit well in June and all of them have hits in this game (Duran has 2).

Robles should be gone now!

Bringing in Robles to pitch in this game is all on Cora. Robles shouldn’t be on the team to begin with, but because he is should be the very last option. Way to go Cora.
