Christian Arroyo has been a one man wrecking crew tonight, the polar opposite of just 4 days ago when he had 3 hits, 3 rbi's, and great defense at SS.

 

Tonight: lousy defense, even worse hitting.

 

Correction: above overlooks the fact that Arroyo's GIDP was in fact a hard hit line drive straight to the second baseman, who flipped to 2b for the 2d out.

One more time. Refsnyder's dinger doesn't tie the game if Wacha doesn't pitch his guts out for 4 innings after that awful 1st. Wacha done good tonight simply because he didn't quit.

 

The flip side is ref's HR would have expanded the lead had wacha not put them in an early hole.

That is the first time in about a thousand years I've seen a Sox pitcher keep working the bottom of the zone and getting a nice K in 6 pitches.
