Actually like Arroyo, Refsnyder is an infielder whose most common position throughout his career is actually 2b.

But, yes, why platoon the #9 hitter, especially if he is a gifted fielder?

He hasn’t played 2B since 2017, which I didn’t know he was, but seems to be a pretty good OF now.

Once again border line incompetents are your words, and not mine. So to say I am on record saying that is 100% false. The big three of Jd, Bogey, and Raffy being carryovers from the 2018 team, and Mookie no longer on the team to start the 2021 season had NOTHING to do with what was being discussed at the time. Once again Dummy Bloom your words, and not mine, and his additions prior to the 2021 season had nothing to do with what was being discussed either. You got nothing right on what was being discussed at all. If I actually thought Cora, and Bloom were borderline incompetents, or that Bloom was a Dummy I would have no problem saying it. Saying Bloom is in over is head in Boston is what I believe, so if you want to call it being a dummy, and incompetents then you do that, and that’s the bottom line.

I guess "in over your head" might have varying comotations and degrees of suckiness among different posters.

Only on here would someone make the leap from over your head to border line incompetence, and being a dummy. Quite hilarious. Must be why I haven’t voted, because being borderline incompetent, and being a dummy wasn’t one of the options. Of course this isn’t the first time someone made a similar leap on hear is it? When I had made the comment that I wouldn’t have hired Cora back, because of the cheating scandal someone made the leap that I Hated Cora. They later apologized, but here is the thing. I’ve decided not no fight the establishment anymore, and just go with the flow, so from now on when I refer to Bloom I’ll call him the Dummy Border Line Incompetent Spaghetti Man. Thanks for the tips, and as always Have A Good Day. Edited by Old Red

Not really. When you say someone over's their head, that implies they can't do the job, and that's incompetence.

Well I’ve had lots of conversations with people about Bloom , and some have agreed with me, and some have disagreed with me, but no one used the words Dummy, or border line incompetent, and of course I’ve heard Bloom discussed many times on the airwaves too, and still no Dummy Border Line incompetent words to describe Bloom, but like I said I’ll go with the group, and use your words, and go with Dummy Border Line Incompetent Spaghetti Man.

If you really intend to use that, you must really like typing.

Just going with the flow, and agreeing with the masses.

Just going with the flow, and agreeing with the masses.

The Masses, and often the media, often judges everything by today and not the bigger picture. Now that’s not the wrong approach; you can only watch what’s on today. (I mean, you would never watch an entire seaso of a TV show that sucked because you thought “But next season will be awesome!!”)

And there are obvious drawbacks to future plans, like things just don’t always work out. But some people do keep an open mind and I believe a GM running any team certainly has to have some sort of eye on the future. But there has to be a balance (or ratio) between future and present …

I mean, converting someone to play 1b is not exactly unheard of.

Exactly. I don't believe Cordero has embarrassed himself playing 1st base, in fact, like last night, he's made some damn nice plays there. I also believe that Ref and JBJ should platoon in RF, at least until Ref proves he can't play there effectively.

Refsnyder has a decent OF glove. His bat is the problem.

Maybe his misreads the masses.

Your idea of the masses is just what’s on here, and believe me I haven’t misjudged that.

Wrong again. I’ve told you several times my circle of Sox discussions goes way beyond this site, but again you choose to believe alt facts and argue with strawman.

There you go with strawman again, and what do you go to that is what you call way beyond this site?

I told you already. Several times. Stop being “lazy” as you called me.

The strawman comment is 100% spot on accurate. It’s your MO. Every time you construct one, I will call you in it.

I’d you want the strawman comments to end, stop constructing them.

The Candy Man can, but you are no Candy Man, so fire way with Straw Man all you want.

As long as you keep constructing them, I'll fira away.

Not sure what the Candy Man has to do with this, but I'll refrain from asking for clarification, as that upsets you, so much.

Still waiting for links. Don't be lazy.

When one shakes a baseball tree, out falls 10 gloves to every bat.

Good one, and that was one reason I scratched my head at giving up so much, and spending so much of a limited winter spending budget on JBJ.

(I'm hoping the prospects straighten me out, but until they show me their value, I'm still scratching my head until the final judgment day arrives.)

Season isnt over. I'd almost expect there to be dichotomous grades. If Cora does well, it will handcuff Bloom and his grade would suffer. If Cora fails then Bloom can deal off his expiring parts and really rebuild the club the right way and he would get a better grade

It’s about their grades as of now.

Bringing in Hill, Wacha, and Strahm have been pretty solid signings. Story is starting to come around. Bloom grades highly mostly because he didn't seem to do much yet every new move he made hit beyond Diekman. Maybe B+

Cora's grade knowing his pitching staff has been nails isn't that great. He should have gotten more out of a team that has the 2nd best run differential in the AL. Maybe C-

My poll was designed to ask about their overall grades from when they joined the Sox to now, not just this year, but I wasn't very specific.

So as we sit here on June 18 and in 4 th place I give Bloom an F and Cora a F .But many will say look how far they have come Swi !!! Yeah screw that bud this is a results oriented business and the results suck ass .F grades all around .Ill consider a D if they pass the Rays and a B for Bloom on trades .Cora has lost a few games himself by resting players so I’m less than happy with how poor they have been in 2022 .Bloom has been a terrible hire and the trades he’s made has put us in 4 th place .F Bloom .

Is there more than 3 players on the Sox you actually like?

Within the context of their inherited/given roster and spending budget limits, how would you grade Bloom & Cora?

I vote #1, easily.

I also vote #1 easily.

They are not there yet, but Bloom/Cora could rival Epstein/Francona.

Cora doing well is not going to handcuff Bloom.

Losing 1 and 2 run games is more about luck than anything else.
