That's why I'm glad I'm not in any fantasy leagues. I would hate to find myself cheering for a Yankee.

Oh no, I never cheer for any of the Yankees players. I am seriously not capable of doing so. I am always willing to sacrifice my fantasy team if it means the Yankees playing poorly. But at least if the Yankees do well, I get a little bit of consolation out of it.

And even though the Sox would probably be better served at this point if the Yankees beat the Rays and the Jays, I am still pulling against the Yankees in every one of those series. With no offense to Thunder, his post about enjoying watching the Yankees good run is wrong on so many levels.

Umm, it's actually better for baseball when the Yanks are doing well. Most popular team in the country and also the team many love to hate.

It might be better for baseball, but it's not better for baseball humanity. It's certainly not better for Red Sox Nation, which is really all that matters. ;)

A season being enjoyable vs being a success aren't the same. There have been many enjoyable seasons overall over the past decade where the final result was a failure. And every year the Yankees don't win a WS it's considered a failure. But as fans we should still enjoy the ride.

You have every right to enjoy the ride. I keep thinking the Yankees have to cool off, but then they don't. As a Sox fan, I hate it. There are a lot of comparisons being made to the 2018 Sox season. The only difference is that I won't allow the Yankees to win the World Series. LOL

Uh-oh, bad loss for the Yankees. The wheels are starting to fall off.

It was fun while it lasted Yankees fans but as I said the Yankees were peaking at the wrong time. Yeah, they "peaked for 66 games." SMH....

No one is going to beat the Mets anyway. Degrom and Scherzer will carve up the Yankees lineup. Go Mets, the best team in NY! Their records say otherwise, troll.

Care to make a wager on that or are you just trolling again?

A troll who doesn't know what trolling is. Not surprising.

Yeah, they "peaked for 66 games. SMH....

Maybe like the 90 game "peak" the Sox had in 1978 (62-28), Yankee fans never let us forget?

I certainly do know what it is, and your post was a perfect example.

Again, care to make a wager?

Anything is possible, but that was obviously a pretty epic collapse.

The only comparisons I am hearing lately are to the 1998 Yankees team.......

Only because Yankees fans like to live further in the past.

Even with comparing this year's team to the 1998 team, I'm not allowing the Yankees to win the World Series this year.

Indeed, despite the fact that we won our last 8 games to force the playoff game and 12 out of 14. While the Yanks choked the last game of the year to CLE 9-2 and went just 8-5 in your last 13 games to help force the tie.

Yes, anything can happen.

I think the comparison to the 1998 team is for 2 reason. 1) They are both Yankee teams 2) the present team is on a pace closer to the 1998 team than the 2018 sox team.

I said "further" in the past, as in over 20 years ago. 2018 is not in the future but at least it's in this millennium.

I've heard the comparisons to the 1998 team as well and they are fair comparisons.

Regardless, you'd still need a Delorean to get to either year. ;)

Further into the past NOT future.

Do you need glasses or a dictionary?

Lighten up francis, it was a joke.

But again, care to make a wager on the pitching slump you are guaranteeing?

Talk about trolling.

Who guaranteed a pitching slump? Mr. Stawman?

You proclaimed it starts now.

That is not a guarantee. Again, do you need a dictionary?

Would you bet the Yankee pitching numbers stay the same or improve going forward?

Their start to the season is a very high bar to stay at or exceed.

No, I don't bet, anymore.

Well, you stated it as a fact.

Speaking of facts, the fact that you won't back it up with a wager shows you were just trolling.

The good thing about having a winning stretch of games like this to start the season as opposed to later on is that it will take a lot for the Yanks to lose their division lead. Going .500 the rest of the way is probably the worst case scenario I can envision for them, and if they do the Jays would need to go 60-36 (.625) for the remainder of the season to surpass them. Not impossible, but winning at that pace for 3 months isn't easy.

Barring devastating injury, this Yanks squad isn’t going .500 the rest of the way. Yes, the division is difficult, but the rest of the AL is soft as puppy poo. Yanks pen was human for once. We got great offense. We got reasonably good starting pitching. And after we lost the lead, Rizzo homered and the Yanks had the tying and go ahead runs on the bases when the final out was made. The difference this year is they don’t quit. There’s been a single game (Cortes vs Twins) that they’ve been out of it from the beginning. That’s it.

Here’s the craziest thing about the Yanks. They’ve got 5 starters that are playoff caliber starters. They’ve got a bridge that runs 3 deep and a closer that nobody can hit. When the POs roll around, they’re gonna be a tough out

I haven't bet in over 20 years, so using that as your criteria is a bit shallow.

I made a statement. Statements can be opinions of facts. Mine did not say which one it was.

If you took as a fact that must be wagered on is very telling- about you, not me.

My post was meant to be light-hearted as I was teasing jacko for jinxing the team. The context might also include my post from minutes before that said, "We don't know what will happen, next, but sometimes bad skids start with a game like this." This is the sentiment I meant to convey. Of course, nobody knows if a pitching slump begins or not, but most slumps do start with a very bad game.

Take that as you wish.

Bet against yourself, if you feel the need, but please try to learn what the word "trolling" means.

You are assuming no injuries, which for the Yanks is like assuming the sun won't rise, tomorrow.

That being said, you guys look unstoppable, right now, and that goes beyond your starting 5.

You're being silly. A prediction is never a fact, whether it's joking or serious.
