Maybe we jettison r hernandez and open up another spot.

But he just hit a tater, yesterday!

I think we add a catcher, this winter, so having 4 is too much. Cottam is a borderline keeper on Rule 5, this winter.

Tough call. Maybe we just go with the 3 we have, take the hit on offense, hopefully make gains on D and spend our resources upgrading other high need areas.

I think R hernandez will be out of options, time to make a decision on him.

At Portland, Refsynder with two taters and binelas with his 9th Portland tater of the season!

Bello started this game. Went 3 and 2/3, gave up 1 run on two hits, no Walks and 6 strikeouts!

Wong will have an option, and if RHern and Wong are as close as I think they are, there is no harm in starting Wong in AAA and RHern as the back-up.

This is assuming McGuire starts and is not the back-up. If he is, then we likely trade RHern.

Ref should be on the big club.

I see Kike is playing, now. Hmmm...

Some K:BB ratios on the farm:

75:7 Walter (.585 OPSA as well.)

115:13 Van Belle (lets up a lot of hits)

118:34 Bello (might be our best farm pitching hope)

129:38 Drohan (showing signs)

120:54 Murphy (Could be our closer for the future?)

81:21 Santos (.789 OPSA not so great)

94:32 Keller (the quiet one)

95:33 Uberstine (the sleeper?)

98:48 Gonzalez (needs to improve, here.)

59:26 Mata (not bad in rehab)

66:18 Seabold (over-rated?)

54:18 in 39 IP Frank German (Closer material?)

ETAs according to soxprospects.com

18, Jordan

19. Gonzalez

20. Coffey

22. Hickey

25. Kavadas

27. Bonaci

The list looks nicely balanced, assuming our top prospects amount to something special, and we have a lot of interesting talent becoming ML ready by the end of 2023. We also have some very talented players about to be added to the 40 for Rule 5.

10 players- should be ready by 2023 or were already called up. Plus, there is no Noah Song or RHern on this top 30 list- both might contribute, someday.

2022 9th round draft pick brooks Brannon was 3 for 4 today at fcl.

How about Roman Anthony going 3 for 3? (He's 7 for 15, this year with 2 BBs 7 just 2 Ks.)

BTW, 2 of Brannon's 3 hits were triples.

Larry, you've gone from The Tater Guy to The Tater and Walk Guy.

Just with Kavadas. He should not ignore:

79 BB - 78 K Bonaci (.400 OBP) 2nd on the farm in total walks

53 BB- 60 Ks Hickey (.412 OBP)

Kavadas has 86 BBs and 112 Ks- not a bad ratio but not the best.
