How does Tampa keep coming up with these good young pitches?

All I know is if they let one go, you DON’T want to sign him. They never seem to be as good once they leave Tampa.

I wouldn't mind if the Sox got rid of Pivetta, perez and richards and start from scratch. Go with Sale, Nate and get 3 new starters

Agreed

I would be fine with it as well

They will definitely keep Pivetta. Dump the other two. Richards is too expensive and Perez sucks.

Pivetta is fine as a number 5 starter. Hes not good enough to be a #3 like he was asked to be most of this year.

E-Rod may cost more then he is worth as well.

That's what it seems the Rays do every year, mainly from their farm. If the SOX had to wait for their farm for pitching, well you get what I mean.

It’s more about his lineup choices and pen moves!

So enlighten us what you would do differently. It would be even more impressive to tell us in real time and not with 20-20 hindsight.

I think the Sox hitters have confused themselves with the orchestra known as the Boston Pops. If it is not hitting into DPs, it's a popup, fair or foul, no matter

Trading Bogey would probably get the SOX one good starter. Got to give up something good to get something good. Trading some SOX top prospects may get the SOX another good pitcher. And they could probably grab another thru FA.

Here's one to start the discussion. I'm having trouble seeing Kike Hernandez as a lead off hitter as opposed to 8th or even 9th . Just don't see him on base at the top of the lineup

I'll go way out on the limb and say the Sox will win this one 6-5 in the 10th

I hope it’s an awfully thick limb or you are the size of a squirrel. Need you here tomorrow and Sunday.

He did poorly at it the first half of the year. Cora stuck with him and he did very well at it in July and August up until he got Covid. He seems to have relapsed to his first half self.

Problem is the Sox really don’t have anyone who fits the prototype lead off hitter profile. Schwarber might be the closest, but he is slow and wasn’t with the club until August.

That’s the problem with playing that game; Cora has to manage the roster he has. Everything is trade-offs.

Why start Vaz… the guy only hits lazy fly balls to RF… why have GR pitch to one batter, if Sale has a rough outing tomorrow and only goes 2-3 innings and we need to keep it close, who we going to there…. Perez?

Yup I was hoping for a fight. This is bad. I was expecting Tampa to put up a couple runs or three. This is more on the offense in my opinion. 0 runs is inexcusable

SOX don't run much anyway, so his lack of speed really isn't an issue.

Vaz started because overall, ERod has pitched better with him behind the plate (didn’t go that way tonight but over the season it is true).

Richards would be available tomorrow. Pivetta has pitched pretty well and if nothing else, is saving the pen, which is a good thing. He could even be putting himself in line for a potential Game 5 start should the series get that far.

IMHO, the Rays aren't going to win the WS. So, similar to Oakland, their relatively small PR will fail them again.

Oh, I know. But the prototype lead off guy normally would have decent speed.

He had some pop this year, but was in the 240’s most of the year, so it would be nice to get on base more too.
