Maybe just maybe Cora will go back to letting Plawecki catch Eovaldi, who pitched great this month with an ERA of 2.70 in four starts with Plawecki catching him in all four games.

 

I’m guessing Plawecki next starts when the Sox have either clinched a spot or have been eliminated. He’ll probably get in the game tonight as part of a blow out.

Still don’t understand why sale wasn’t going tonight. They could have pitch someone else on Wednesday against the Mets.

 

The reason is that Sale gets one more start pitching last Wednesday. If he skipped and pitched tonight, he would get one less start. The way Cole is pitching--plus the Yankees bullpen--I'm thinking Cy Young couldn't win this game for the Sox.

Well, 'this guy' since he's been a Red Sox has the highest OBP in the AL. But, I would rather have seen Schwarber in LF and Dalbec at 1st. The way EO pitched tonight, I guess it really doesn't matter.

He didn’t have it tonight. It happens. Bad time yo have his worst game of the year, but pitchers have days like this once in a while, even real good ones (Cole had one his last start, for example).
