Are you watching the same game I am?

The Rangers should have 4 outs by now.

Everything’s the pitchers fault.

That’s not to say Barnes has covered himself in glory here, but make some simple plays and this game is not tied right now.

Don't expect the final score to be 3-1

How many times do you get to call it correct. I knew Barnes was lurking in the shadows. And the DEFENSIVE substitutions did not exactly come through.

Barnes was, is and will be toast from here on out

I agree Moon, but you can’t honestly sit here and say you are confident with Barnes closing. Come on man. He’s been a train wreck lately and he is shaky as all hell today. There is no defending this s***.

I never said I was confident, but I'm not confident of any pitcher needing 5 outs and counting in an inning.

I'm not defending Barnes. I'm attacking our D and Plawecki's CERA numbers!

Fair enough. Barnes is just off though. He can’t seem to close at all. Such a shade of what he was to start the season. Signed him to a new contract and we might not even use him in this role. Maybe Whitlock

Now you may have extra innings with every position sub already played . But first bases loaded , 2 outs by a weak hitting team, nothing to worry about here

Talk about Barnes, the defense BUT still go back to bases loaded and no pick up by JD nor Bogey .

Agreed. It’s not just on Barnes. But that was ugly

Whitlock saves that inning. Hats off to him.

Barnes is way off, but it would be nice to have a team behind him that maybe helps pick him up, instead of helping drive him into complete despair.

That was an incredible effort by Whitlock even with the weak hitting Rangers. Totally made necessary by our inability to put ANYBODY away, certainly since the ASB.

Hope Cora goes to him more in the 9th down the stretch.

@IanMBrowne

If Barnes can no longer protect two-run leads against 43-80 teams, I'm just not sure where you go from here.

In evaluating who did the most damage in the 9th, I'm thinking every ball hit off Branes was hard hit, Arroyo's bobble of Bogey's tough stop might have been the worst blunder.

BUT-- who was calling and catching for Barnes---VAZ !!. Who was catching for Whitlock ---can't recall now

No errors charged to the infield, so a little hard to claim Barnes, who now gets his own personal catcher when he comes into the game, was great out there today.

That 2 run double scorched to right center was no fluke, but the result of Barnes losing some heat on his fastball--which was hit for that double--and less break on the knuckle curve, which he can't rely on so much these days.

Meanwhile, Whitlock very obviously is pitching the way Barnes did earlier in the season.
