Some have commented on the Yankees needing to play Monday as a benefit to the Sox. Maybe, but mind you, it's the Angels flying coast to coast NY for a one game match with Gerrit Cole going for NY . This is as close to a forfeit win as the Yankees may get .

 

The short 3 game set with NYY will say a lot about the Sox ability to compete again with a hot team ready to bypass the Sox in the WC race . The team needs to take 2 or all 3 of the games to push the Yankees back in their place.

Our lead on the Yankees is entirely due to the head to head record. They have actually been slightly better against everyone else.

Did not happen. Rays walloped the O's as we did, and the Yankees made the 2-1 first inning score stand up through 9 innings. The Angels are useless.

It looked like an opportunity with no one covering third base, and took an excellent throw from Voit and a lucky slap tag to catch Renfroe. Outcome was not good but it wasn't VAZ like
