Recently the bottom third of the order has done well, but not Plawecki or Cordero.

Well, I’d cut those two a little slack since they haven’t had a whole lot of PT at the major league level over the past couple months.

I’m just glad to see Plawecki start today. Vazquez is close to being on fumes as much as he’s played recently and there’s 2 months to go. I really would like to see them split time 60-40 for a while.

121 means he's 21% better than average.

Don't forget this kids age when called up. He had an understandable "off" season at age 21 with a .731 OPS (94 OPS+) which brought his career number down. That was a 490 PA season.

I don't hold early seasons against players, especially ones brought up very young. Devers has always been playing above his age group since day 1 in the minors.

Devers also started out slowly, as he often does, in 2020, and the season was cut short before he could bring it up past 109(OPS+).

Here's his OPS+ since age 22:

133

109 (short season)

149

133 combined 2019-2021.

I remember him not being eligible for the Arizona Fall League because he had not turned 18 yet.

According to what I just heard on the YES feed, EO is second only to Cole in fWAR as a pitcher in the AL.

Eovaldi has been fairly unlucky this season - his numbers are good but his underlying stats are even better than that.

Back to back hits to the bottom of the order is not good.

Yeah, Nate should have made sure Guriel hit that first one harder so that Kike could have an easier play.

EO's small number of walks and his leading the AL by a lot in giving up the fewest HR's contributes to his high fWAR.
