Should be interesting to see who comes out of the AL West. Seattle won't play this well forever. A's are starting to look like the team we thought they would be after the slow start. Don't count the Astros out yet; they are a little banged up right now. Is this the year the Angels finally make the playoffs?

IMO LAA will finally make the POs. It's now or never.

yeah, it's not clear who could be that team this year in the AL. For now, unlikely last year, the Sox are at least in the mix (and more) which is all I ask for this team.

Usually, all teams have some weaknesses in their make-up, but LA doesn't appear to have any. If that team stays fairly healthy they will be an immovable object.

Under Friedman's management, LAD have been awesome. Always contending. Already a ring and some WS appearance. I wanted Friedman in Boston. Some say that Bloom is even better. Have to see. Dodgers have a bright future for at least the rest of the decade. Plenty of money and great management.

Friedman right now is the best in MLB.

This is Nate's longest outing (number of pitches) since prior to the 2018 WS. Edited by mvp 78

Tough at bat by Anderson because Eovaldi is throwing some good pitches.

Damn, I was hoping EO would go 7 just because it could be said that a RED SOX starter did go 7 once this year.

Eovaldi went 7 innings on April 7. Fixed.

White Sox have a bunch of guys who are old school make contact types. It’s refreshing to see.

I’m stuck with the Chicago broadcast; when Eovaldi struck out Madrigal, they said it was only the second time he had struck out all year and even more impressive, it was only the second swing and miss he had had all year (and as a foul tip, it wasn’t even a clean swing and miss).

Agreed. On both accounts

Is this the first time Whitlock has come in with runners on?

I believe so yes. We use him so sparingly. He could end up being like a Joe Kelly. A weapon that we can use at any time!

This guy Mercedes has given up a walk, a double, a single, a stolen base--and could still get a shut out inning.

Or not.

Stolen base helped him; Dalbec’s rocket isn’t a DP without it.

@ChrisCotillo

Mendick's last pitch registered at 40 mph.

Steve Stone on the White Sox broadcast quipped “yeah, if it was 39, it wouldn’t have made it”.

Dalbec is getting no luck at all.

The only Sox hitter without a hit. (He did get a BB.)

Speaking of on base, today...

Devers 4 for 5

Verdugo 4 for 6

JD, Vaz & Cordero 3 for 5

Marwin 2 for 5

Renfroe 2 for 4

Kike 2 for 6

Dalbec 1 for 5

2 to 5 hitters: 14 for 21

Ya it happens. Still like the kid. He will get it going.
