Even without Kluber, we have the pen depth and the rest of the rotation to stay afloat on the mound. Our issues are at the dish and Garcia isnt helping that

plus, you just ate 15 runs from the Detroit f***ing Tigers. It's not like your pitching has been good lately.

Big week in The Bronx . Rays in for four and the Sox for three. Boone's job could be on the line here.

Hopefully they go 4-3

if they lose badly those 2 series could be the beginning of a titanic debacle which they can't recover —mentally in special.

Reason why I said, "Garcia was not the answer"

and yes, as I said, Houk at least has showed he can pitch at very good level. Small sample but still.

Garcia still has to show that —if so.

Garcia did "show he can" in a larger MLB sample size than Houck - twice as large as Houck's 2020 sample size.

2020

34 IP

1.194 WHIP

5.50 K/BB

4.15 FIP

Yes, the 4.98 ERA does not help his case, but he outpitched Houck in the minors at levels where he was 2 years young all along the way.

Are we really looking at Houck's 17 IP sample size in 2020 as the over-riding factoid?.

If yes, why are we ignoring his 10 inning 2021 numbers?

1.452 WHIP

4.35 ERA

No, his short MLB pedigree is not good, by any means. His xFIP and SIERA are 4.6 which suggest his ERA is the real thing, not to mention his BABIP is 290. Imagine if it were 300 LOL

Houk is a better bet in my book.

Note the ages.

Houck

AAA 3.86/1.464 in just 28 IP (age 23-25)

A- 3.63/1.299 in 22 IP (age 21)

Total: 4.14/1.421 (252 IP)

Garcia

AAA 5.34/1.509 in just 56 IP (age20-22)

AA 3.53/1,210 (age 20)

Some good minor league pitchers do not pan out in big league and the opposite.

The FACT is Houk has showed more encouraging things playing with the big boys. Garcia hasn't.

I was reading Hill made the Allstar team of May for the AL. I can see why. Edited by iortiz

3 starts in 2020. That's it.

Yes, that was encouraging, but come on.

17 innings tell next to nothing.

He makes lots of monthly all star teams.

His issue has always been not going full seasons.

I really wanted the Sox to get Taillon.

He may still turn things around, but he has looked pretty bad, this year. The year of the dead ball.

Do not be surprised if he is durable for TB this year lol

It's all for Taillon. Got nothing today.

It is going to be a long season for him in the 2021 ALE.

Taillon has seemed to sputter after 4 innings this year. He does not have the stuff he had prior to TJS. He was a high 90s guy. Now he’s a low to mid 90s guy and he’s nowhere near as effective

They have a way of getting career years out of long time marginal or oft-injured good players.

The Yankee offense is just horrific.

Blame it on injuries, dead balls and batting coaches or whatever, but they just plain suck.

Their defense isn't much better. Gleyber has been absolutely awful over the last 24 hours

Thinking you could et by with that horrific defense at a position like SS should be enough to get Boone and Cashman fired, by itself.

I guess the Jeter example blinded Yankee management.

For those who think great pitching is all you need to win, this Yankee team is doing it's best to provide evidence to the contrary.

This Yankee pen is legendary great.

Their starters are top 5 in MLB.

Yet, they suck.

Time for Thames to go. Not sure it’s his fault, but accountability is needed. The players need to learn that their actions have consequence

The buck stops with Boone and Cashman.

Firing Boone would be a bigger and better message and wake-up call.

Posted
I don’t disagree, but I doubt it’s gonna happen.

I'm not saying it will, but there has been good reason to fire Boone several times over the last few years. How many lives does this guy have?

At some point, the plug needs to pulled.

Your 2021 expectations may have been higher than deserved, but this team is better than this.

He deserved to be fired before, this. This should be the final straw.

Cut the chord.
