That 19-8 game was on my 6th birthday. Good thing I don't remember it

It was a heartbreaker, but made the final outcome all the more rewarding.

I think the two most deserving teams are in the Series. The Rays beat the Yankees during the season and again in the playoffs . Then they beat a tough Houston team. The Dodgers have been the best team in MLB all year. It should be a good World Series . Have to make the Dodgers the favorites.

I would have to agree with this. Too bad, I was really pulling for the Braves.

Now I'm pulling for the Dodgers, whom I have nothing against (Go Dave Roberts), except I'm already sick of all the Mookie articles.

Yes , the Rays are definitely a live underdog. As for the Dodgers always coming up short ; they do have a little something extra this year that they didn't have before , if you know what I mean.

Yeah, this is the one reason why I would pull against the Dodgers.

Mookie is not the difference maker.

A team that escapes near-certain doom like the Dodgers did in the NLCS can be tough to beat after that.

The 04 Red Sox were down 0-3 in the ALCS and then ran off 8 straight.

The 07 Red Sox were down 1-3 in the ALCS and then ran off 7 straight.

There are plenty of other examples.

So can there be momentum in the playoffs? Kimmi?

Ha. I'm being baited.

Momentum has no predictive value. I think we've established that.

I wonder if there are any Dodgers fans thinking "Hmmm...it would be nice to have the option of David Price starting games instead of Gonsolin & May..."

I am wondering what David Price is thinking. After the initial early outbreaks, MLB has gone 58 (I believe) straight days without a positive test. You really have to give MLB and the players credit for taking the protocols seriously after it looked like the season would not last 2 weeks.

But, I digress. Price could be pitching in and winning a WS Championship with his team. He says that he is at peace with his decision, but a part of him has to be feeling that he wishes he were playing.

And the 2008 Red Sox were down 1-3 to Tampa in the ALCS and trailing 7-0 in the seventh inning of potential elimination game 5, and they rallied and took that game 5 and won game 6 and then...

Oh wait...

I really like the pitching rule where if a releiver is coming in he has to face minimum 3 batters. Should of had this rule a long time ago.

Despite what Notin says, it's a good rule. I really like it as well.

Disagree 100%. Stupid rule.

I am ok with rule changes, but the idea of disallowing certain strategies simply because some people don't like them is just wrong. Also why no one should be allowed to ban shifts.

MLB had other options to speed up games that they have ignored for reasons no one will ever understand....

Shifts should also be banned.

I agree with this. Sometimes when I see these shift I'm like wtf am I watching here. Looks like a beer league slow pitch game with a rover in the outfield or playing 4 wide.

I like the universal D.H. rule. I would keep that. I do not like the runner on second extra innings rule. I would definitely scrap that one

+1 on both counts

The real question is, will I be able to stay up until the end of tonight's game?

Answer: Yes! I stayed up for the whole game, and it wasn't even very exciting. LOL

Exactly. Shifts work more often than not, but I really don't like seeing players playing wherever the manager feels like positioning them. I think there should be certain restrictions, like allowing only 3 outfielders and requiring only 2 infielders on each side of 2nd base.

Okay, okay...Rays in 6.

I don't think the Rays have the offense to get it done.

If the Dodgers take the lead in a game by about 3 runs, that's ball game.

Yes, I know all that, Mr. Smarty-Pants.

Here's a question I might check into:

What % of the time do teams that lose the first 3 games of a series win Game 4?

2 more to go!!!!!! Let's go boys finish the job so I can take some selfies with the WS trophy this winter!!!

I don’t how you can root for the dodgers. Is it because of mookie?

AJ Pollock went to my HS and I played for the same coach he had.

Also, as a 22 year old Red Sox fan, I have more reasons to hate the Rays then the Yankees

So far each one of these games has basically been over in the 5th inning.

To me, the Yankee hate does not come from just losing to them, so many times. It's being exposed to their obnoxious fans, watching them buy the best players year after year, watching them use PEDs way more than any other top teams and just being rivals.

The Rays have beaten us a lot, too, and there were several times where bad blood was exposed, but I can't help but admire a team like the Rays. They have had one of the lowest player budgets year-after-year, and yet they have been pretty competitive over many seasons. They are the "underdog."

Yes, it sucks, they beat us too many times, but to me, it's not even close to the Yanks, when you factor in everything beyond recent beatings.
