I only hope Beni somehow did his baserunning based on the idea that the run from third would count if he delayed the out caused by his leaving the base IF Devers ball was caught in the air.

The real story of the 3rd inning wasn't the conclusion, but that with the bases loaded and no outs with your alleged best 2 hitters coming up, the first one K's and the second one hits a double play bal whether it hit the ground or not. Not even a flyball in the bunch.

I think the pole shot emphasizes that the Sox are not destined for a really big short season. They are lucky it is not 162 game tour de force. But Bloomie will need to be shopping for 3 legitimate starters winter of 20/21. Erod's illness was the crusher this go round
