Oh, be still my heart.

He would still be my catcher if I were the GM/manager. :)

He seems to be moving up the chain though, Kimmi.

I went to a game a few years ago and got a Varitek bobblehead as a giveaway. It's all yours.... For a price ;)

That he is. I'm glad that he is a vital part of the organization.

LOL I'm not really a fan of the bobblehead. Good deal anyway!

@TomCaron

Hot summer day at Fenway. Red-hot intrasquad scrimmage action starts at 2 pm. Sox vs Sox.

Yeah, and your point is? :D

He should be limited only to catching games pitched by Jamie Moyer...

Takeaways from the Red Sox 4-0 win over the Red Sox:

-Eovaldi looks good

-Lucroy looks ready to battle for a spot on the roster

-It's difficult to keep score of these intrasquad games

-The players seem to take social distancing seriously

-Varitek had way too much fun being an ump

I watched it for half an inning on Twitter. It was cool.

Confirmed: Red Sox will play two exhibition games against the Blue Jays at Fenway Park before Opening Day.

7/21 and 7/22 at 7:30 p.m. They are already on the official schedule.

I think Tek will eventually manage the team soon too, but I don't know if it will be that soon. Maybe.

Welcome back from you self-imposed ban. Behave yourself. ;)

Nice! My understanding is that Tek did a very good job of calling balls and strikes. Forget robot umps. Varitek for umpire!

Joe Kelly going to the wrong dugout. LOL Gotta love him!

I miss him so much! I went to one of the games last summer when the Dodgers were at Fenway and I got to see him pitch in that game. A couple people in our section (including me) kept yelling "Jim Buchanan"

I miss him too. LOL, I forgot about Jim Buchanan. As I said, you gotta love him!

Watching these scrimmages and seeing that we are rolling out some real tomato cans to the mound. These guys stink. At least Workman got some work in today.

Arauz was in camp when O was in Fort Myer. I saw a few of his BP sessions and some game AB’s. He has a live bat. Where did they get him?

That's what I thought. Maybe the Red Sox can make a trade to keep him instead of returning him.

I think they'll squeeze him onto the roster. Especially if it's just a throw away season. Much easier to stash someone if the stakes are low and there is an expanded roster. It's also not like they have another backup IFer that they couldn't risk DFA'ing.

If they really like him, he's not going anywhere.
