Not happening.

Maybe not. But you always ask for more initially so that when they improve their offer you get a better return in the deal than the damaged goods offered aka Graterol. I'm convinced that the Red Sox will be asking for more in return and will get it before this deal gets consummated.

I feel so sorry for these multi-million dollar players (Price & Mookie) being in limbo and not knowing what luxury condo they will be living in and what city they will be playing in. Must be horrible! Tony Clark things so! What an idiot.

The bigger issue is the HIPAA violations.

If Price was forced on the Dodgers, wouldn't the Dodgers have given up more in return if they did not have to take Price?

That's all I'm saying.

Yes, and we'd be stuck with $31M x 3 years.

Now, we're both stuck with about half.

Rumor is that Jordan Balazovic is replacing Graterol as the prospect coming from the Twins

The Trade Values site had Balazovic at 17.1 and Graterol at 14.3 (value before flunked physical).

Is there a source on this other than random Twitter chatter?

This is a Twins beat writer for the Athletic...

Dan Hayes @DanHayesMLB

Other names have been asked about as possibilities for Twins-Red Sox-Dodgers. Jordan Balazovic is not a prospect the Twins would make available.

I'm getting the impression that the reason the Twins were so willing to trade alleged stud prospect Graterol for 32-year-old Kenta Maeda was because they knew he wasn't going to be a starter...their apparent unwillingness to substitute lower-ranked and further-away prospects for Graterol only bears this out. It might be time to forget the Minnesota connection here and go back to the drawing board with the Dodgers.

Agreed....the Twins situation is a complication this deal does not need. The two main participants want the basics of this deal (Mookie/Price for Verdugo/somebody) to happen, each franchise for its own reasons. Its on them to get it done.

I am not saying I am happy about any of this and frankly, while I certainly acknowledge the benefits JH has brought us in Boston, his time may be past here.

Reason why I said rumor. A buddy of mine loves a random Sox website and he texted me. It was on the believe in boston sports website. Clearly, it hasn’t been reported anywhere else, so it looks like it’s not true

Sorry jung, JH is the one guy who can't be fired.

That website is bunk.

Well yeah, if the true details of JH's secret life emerge, he might have issues.

Marge Schott got fired because she pissed off everyone, the other owners, the fans , the players and the baseball writers. Moreover she didn't own the area's leading newspaper. There is an old saying "Never pick a fight with a guy who buys his ink by the barrel"

I think it would be rad as heck if the Red Sox were delaying this whole trade because of the backlash but that assumes 1) they didn’t anticipate backlash, which would be truly insane and 2) they care more about backlash than the luxury tax... they for sure *look* bad, which has been their forte for ~18 months

Has nothing to do with anything.

In a nice way without being bluntly crude, I was pointing out that implying that Henry may have pro Nazi sympathies could be consider slanderous libel. I was trying to be subtle knowing how thin skinned you can be.

Brusdar Graterol may be a sad casualty:

So much hot take overreaction in the Twitterverse.

Grater can silence all the medical crap by pitching well.

She also made some pro-Nazi comments

And she made her entire team shave while prancing around with one of the shaggiest dogs ever...

Honestly, I would prefer to just keep Graterol and stick him and Darwinzon at the back end of the bullpen...

I think the Sox are shooting for the trifecta - they want the completion of this trade, the investigation and the managerial announcement all at once.
