Verdugo and Brusdar Graterol to Boston

Joc Pederson to LAA

Mookie and Price to LAD

Kenta Maeda to Twins

No word on other pieces from LAA

Wow!

Questions...

How much money goes to LAD?

Did we include anyone else?

I’m guessing verdugo will play right away. This guy better live up to the billing. Mookie is not coming back here. Dodgers will make sure he signs long term.

Brusdar Graterol, the name Bellhorn described "sounds most like a kitchen appliance sold on QVC" or something to that effect.

And he is a big deal.

The only upside to this deal is I get to see Mookie play every day. The downside is I have to see Price every fourth day.

They will have to pay a lot. And they just took on a big chunk of another mega contract in Price. Plus Cody Bellinger is a year away from arbitration. Oh, and the Dodgers rarely give out those big contracts.

Mookie will see free agency. It's what Mookie wants...

Sox pay 1/2 of Price from what I read.

Sounds fair. I wouldn't pay Price $16M x 3, so I see it as a plus.

We can afford Betts next winter, if that's what Bloom wants.

If not, we can hope Bloom does his thing with bargain deals and much more money to spend than he ever had in TB.

I hate seeing Mookie go, but I'm still holding out hope he comes back next year.

I see this deal as a money deal with the hope that verdugo can be a player.

It's a pretty solid hope and a mess a money saved.

Well like a said this deal is a salary dump deal. Idk verdugo have to see more. Basically the sox are throwing away this season in hopes for the following year. They still have chris sale whose not their best pitcher.

Brusdar Graterol, hard throwing pitcher going to Red Sox.

Averaged 98.9mph last year for the Twins. But he did not start any games.

He has also never thrown more than 60 IP in a season at any level. Thinking the Sox might need another SP...

Heyman: Dodgers will try to keep Mookie Betts longterm. Talks may not start immediately but they hope this isn’t a one-year thing. They love Mookie, who was unable to come to a multiyear agreement with Boston despite its many tries.

Verdugo is only 23. He had an .817 OPS last year in 377 PAs.

He hit .842 in AAA (874 PAs). I'm liking the promise he has.

If he doesn't amount to much, we still dumped Price and can get Betts back much more easily without $15M of Price's money on the books for 3 more years.

You have to get a big time proven player back. Verdugo? Come on now!!!! Verdugo is a project at best. Ok he hit 291 in 101 games but only 12 hrs and 44 RBIs. He’s a project. Idk what the Sox are doing here frankly but it’s basically the repercussions of handing out terrible contracts!

He pitched 102 IP in 2018 and 72 in 2019.

Oh my aching back! I hope he doesn't spend too much time on the dl or whatever they call it now.

He's also only 23. I don't like this trade (As I've said numerous times I'm a huge Mookie homer), but give the man a chance. He has a lot of talent.

It's like the AGon trade. It's more about the CC and Price dump, but Verdugo is better than anything we got back in the AGon deal.

In the Agon trade we didn't give up a player as good as Mookie Betts.

Its a pipe dream that Mookie comes back next year.

I'm sure the Dodgers will offer the world, and it will be interesting if Mookie keeps to his word on going to free agency, but if he does, we should have as good a chance as anyone else, assuming we want to pay.

It was unloading nearly 300M+ of salaries. Crawford deal was worse than Price at the time. He was plain miserable.

So they wouldn't want to pay this year, but will be fine paying next year? I really really doubt Mookie is ever back in Boston.
