I don't see LA winning. They aren't beating the AL top teams. They have dominated a weak NL for the last 15 years and nothing to show for it.

I think the Astros will knock off the Yankees, now that they have Greinke. They have a great team. And don't sell the Dodgers short; they could easily win it all.

Ummm...the Dodgers have the third best bullpen ERA in the NL. They also have the best ERA for SP and overall ERA. They have a great team: great pitching and they have scored more runs and have a better OPS than any NL team. The Yankees will be playing a REAL team if they make it far enough to face them in the WS.

Their pen is without a dominant pitcher. Kenley is human. They have a bunch of mid 3 ERA relievers in front of him. The only guy really pitching well out of the pen is Urias. They don't have a dominant pen. No bridge that is lights out

The way I see the thing, this is beyond talent, mechanics, fundamentals, etc.

This is about frustration of losing a lot of winnable games. This frustration is blocking their minds to play good baseball, and the more they lose the more they lose confidence.

Said that, I still believe in this team but they need to fix the above. Somehow they need to believe in themselves again, and someone has to remind them that they are still the champs.

Nice job Alex. You gave them 4 more runs. Its not about trying to limp into the WC any longer. I have no idea why Red Sox fans were wishing for that....probably bought into the "anything can happen" garbage. Its about pride now and Alex is not leading this team with pride. I don't give a crap about computer geeks and data information systems or overload shifts or any of that garbage. This is a game of human athletic endeavor and once its no longer that ITS NO LONGER ANYTHING!

The way V-TEK played the game I doubt he would be compatible with this new breed of pussies.

Are you referring to the tough guy whose most famous bad-ass move was sucker-punching a guy (while in full pads and mask)? (The only good thing Carl Crawford did while here was calling him out for his "captain" b.s.)

What ends up happening on a talented team heading down the tubes is everyone starts looking to get theirs. Been there. I played on a legion team that lost in the state finals the year before. We returned all but one guy who didn't start. We went .500 the following year even though we were loaded and the prohibitive favorites to win the states. After 20 games, we were 10-10 and everyone started trying to get their stats, no longer playing for each other, and it all melted

Yes on both counts.

As you know, in the playoffs some of their SPs become relievers as well. Thats what the Sox did last year and what every team does in the playoffs. They have enough strength in SP to carry them to a ring. Vegas I think lists them as co-favorites with the Astros right now.

7 run rule. Put Sale, Price and ERod in a hyperbaric chamber until February 15th. Throw the bullpen until their arms fall off and then release them and start over next season with a new pen.

And they should be. I am just saying they aren't invincible. Houston looks stacked too, but they can be beaten

Oh. but Jung, we lead the league in runs scored and we have a Dwar of 99.9......WTF

And they got theirs so long ago they probably can't even remember winning it.

The cool thing about this season is you will get to see the Yankees play in the playoffs and the sox swinging on the links

It was a fair fight. Varitek kept his mask on (smart move) and A-roid was swinging his purse. Btw, are you another Yankem troll on this thread?

Here is the REAL problem. We have Price and Sale and Eovaldi (who may be salvageable) for multiple more years, just like Pedroia. The baggage is heavy and airlines charge for extra bags\

I believe they call this a cliff

It will be an interesting playoffs this year to be sure. Not as interesting as last year, but I will be right in there rooting for whoever is playing the Yankees.

Its not going to be the Sox this year, obviously. The team and the fans have justifiably given up.

Thanks for reminding us old man Pedroia is still around somewhere.

I'd rather be at the Red Sox golf tournament than their games. At least i'd see them hit something

And you will see Houston kick the Yankees ass unless someone else does it first. If you ain't first you are last. But if that happens, you won't be around. Just like last year when the Sox kicked the Yankees ass all year and in the playoffs.
