One of the better movies made from a King novel.

Saw the movie a long time ago.. only got around to reading the book now. I’m about halfway through it. It’s excellent.

And this is what frustrates me about the 2019 Red Sox. This is not a great Yankmee team. Its barely a good Yankmee team. Any kind of push at all from the Sox would have pushed this team over. We might not have gotten past the Rays which would be ignominy itself....beaten by a $65M total payroll! But this Yankmee team should have been a pushover.

4 runs conceded is a good pitching performance in the context of this season.

Unfortunately the hitting sucked in this one

Talk about supernatural. King, who is a huge SOX fan, decided before the 2004 season began to write a diary about each SOX game.

I agree. It should have been a easy-go season for us... instead we don't show up and let the Yanks have the easy unimpeded road.

I guess they're saving that weapon as a last resort.

That horse has left the barn. Who knows what Cora actually did. That whole post trade deadline fiasco was a concoction of the Sox PR Machine. I don't care that Kennedy and DD got swept up in it. They should have kept Cora out of it.

That was a statement game from our staff. Everyone says the Yanks don’t have the pitching, our starter goes out and gets punched in the mouth in the first then he dominates from there. Paxton is a legit starter who hasn’t been pitching like one. He shut the top offense in baseball down and made 4 runs seem insurmountable. Great job from this staff.

I would not take much optimism from this game if I were you. The Red Sox currently have their heads up their asses and are likely polishing their golf clubs in the clubhouse. The last time a team had the top offense in baseball and failed to make the post season was the 2011 Chicken and Beer Red Sox and this bunch looks poised to be something like that.

The Sox got better pitches to hit from Paxton than NY got from ERod and simply did nothing with them. The Yanks for their part simply swung themselves out of AB's. Erod was not even trying to throw strikes, hence the high walk rate. Why should he try to throw strikes? The Yanks were swinging out of their shoelaces at pitches more than a foot off the plate. They seem to have taken the lack of plate discipline that plagues MLB generally to new levels.

This was a classic 2019 Manfred-ball game. The starting pitchers really didn't pitch, neither of them and the hitters didn't hit....none of them. Baseball as boring as watching paint dry.

That said, the NY bullpen did its thing and that would be encouraging to a NY fan.

Sale getting game 1 Saturday which I guess means Price in game 2 of the doubleheader.

Price was place on paternity leave but should be back in time for his start tomorrow.

I believe Johnson is going game 2.

Sale-German game 1

Johnson-pen game 2

It’ll probably be Green-Cortes for game 2. IIRC, were undefeated in Green “starts”.

I think the total time over-under for the 2 games is 9 hours LOL

I been wondering why Eovaldi wasn't slotted for game 2. He's pitch mopped up innings so far. Far better than any Johnson, Moe, Larry and Curly , or Neck Tat that just sucks.

Well that is interesting. Yesterday, Cora was still "hoping" Price would be back for one of the Saturday games.

He pitched like 6 innings (one inning at a time) since he was cleared to throw. There is no way he is stretched out enough to go even 3 innings, much less what a starter should at least be expected to go.

The are paying him too much over the next few years to risk blowing out his arm. He'll be back as a starter next year.

If its a boy he will probably try to name him Astro prompting immediate divorce proceedings by his wife. Price is such a space shot.
