Castillo is still owed $14M+ next year. He's "off the books" in terms of the tax budget, but Henry is still paying him.

I doubt we trade Betts.

Hembree will be back.

Leon may be back, if he signs for less.

I disagree about Betts Moon. I think they will offer him a huge contract again in the off season. If he turns it down they know he won't resign. They can get a lot for him in the off season. He will be traded. Look what Arizona just got for Greinke. Remember the Herschel Walker trade?

Wrong. The ST plan explains why this team has been playing behind the 8 ball all year. I think we were under .500 by something like 7 games by May 1. If we had even played .500 ball we would be right in the middle of the WC race. It put a lot of pressure on the team ALL YEAR LONG. That has to have an effect. Being 7 games under .500 right from the start has a direct impact on the standings and mental state of the team right now, on August first.

I don’t think the “it” factor that all championship teams seem to have was never there and would not have been. It wasn’t going to be if Cora had run the tightest camp in the history of spring training.

And Cora gets one more year. If they fail to make the playoffs again Cora gets fired.

Depends on what kind of team they field. He gets more of a pass if they gut the team.

The Sox just don't do these type of moves.

I'm not saying it doesn't make sense, but I seriously doubt we trade him, unless we are out of it by the deadline.

Betts, Bogie, and Beni have 8 hits, both dingers and all 4 rbi’s. The other six have 1 hit and and 10 K’s.
If the trade deadline was August 15th the Sox would be sellers.

I agree with that part. But starting the season 7 games under .500 wasn't a good plan, and it was a direct result of the SPs not being ready. Again, if they had just played .500 ball they would be right there contending for at least a WC spot. Cora made a mistake. Because he did so well last year I would give him one more year. But after that, no playoffs......and he is gone.

They won't get near as much at the deadline as in the off season.

Hi, Moon. Could you please find out which MLB team leads the league in solo HR's?

Nothing is wrong if the SOX FO can trade him for a starting pitcher during the off season.

They can’t trade him if he opts out, and even if he stays , he can still opt out after the 2020 and 2021 seasons. That’s going to make him much more difficult to trade.

True. But I doubt he will opt out.

I tried, but also had no luck. I'd be surprised if it wasn't the SOX.

I'm pretty sure we lead the league in guys getting on base right after a solo HR.

Lol... this pitching.. you can’t help but laugh at this point.

It's like our staff is solely responsible for the league HR uptick over 2018.
