Unfortunately I’m starting to agree with this I thought he was going to be the next great thing but this year is a totally different story. I still think he is a hell of a player but don’t want to pay big money to a player who is this inconsistent.

 

Then again I want to sign Porcello and lots don’t so it’s opinion based. But Mookie has been a total let down. If it’s a slump that’s fine but a slump means the player comes out of it. I’m still waiting for this for Mookie.

The Sox should make Mookie a very competitive extension offer before the trade deadline (their best offer they are going to make). If he declines it, he is not resigning here after 2020. Trade him and get as much as they can. His value at midseason will be its greatest before FA.

He looks good, and he is also lucky. All fastballs and changeups. No sliders or curves. He has thrown several fast balls right in the middle and not had to pay the price. The dinger was of a cut fastball on the inside corner.

I'm not even sure he was a fake tag up. He just took a small lead, and the leftfielder made a great throw behind him. Besides, the next batter was going to make an out anyway. RISP disease has hit this team hard this year.
