If we won 3-2 or 2-1, with the Sox going 1-13 with RISP, would you be mad? After you get the lead, the important thing is to hold it, and win it. Especially later in game and Extra innings. Early in game I understand it's tough.

Of course you want more runs, common sense, but after lead, the important thing is to hold it. At least once out of 2 times.

so we are paying $31MM for a 70 pitch limit pitcher? you are OK with this? you have more faith in Shawaryn pitching the 6th then David Price with 73 pitches??

It was one game..... I get the frustration but calm down. The bullpen has been red hot and was red hot again last night. Save Price's messed up elbow and limit his game if the bullpen is working which they were. It's not like Price has pitched 5 innings all year. This was a one off and who knows.... Maybe he had some soreness the day before so they wanted to be cautious. He has been rock solid this year outside of one bad start against Texas. If this continues and he only gives us 5 innings or less then I will be concerned.... But his last 3 starts he gave us 6 against Tampa, New York and Cleveland.... All very good teams. It's not the end of the world they pulled him after 5 last night.

We are a top 5 offense team.... Asking them to put up more than 5 runs in 2 games shouldn't be that difficult. I get what you are saying but the pitching is not to blame for this loss. The offense is simple as that. More specifically the pathetic showing Of Martinez. Man did he friggin stink last night.

Cora is a ballsy manager IMO. He knew he would take heat for pulling Price there. Just like he knew he would get questioned for pulling Porcello for Brewer the game before.

Agreed haha. He definitely is not scared of what the public might think of him that’s for sure. His decisions have paid off though in this series. That fault last night in my opinion is flat out on the offense.

How many innings do you expect a bullpen to hold a one run lead?

It’s not like Price gave them 7 innings and the bullpen coughed it up in the last 2.

That pen pitched OVER ELEVEN INNINGS. More than a full game. They used every active relief pitcher.

Blaming the bullpen for last night’s loss is like blaming Eovaldi for the loss on the World Series...

Last night's game was weirdly similar to that WS Game 3.

Except that Johnson did not get a standing ovation from his teammates when it was over.

Yankees up 6-0 already. They look like us last year. This team is too damn inconsistent to win a division this year. Maybe they can get a wildcard spot. Maybe.

Hello they’re our main rival. Anytime the Yankees do well it sucks. Right now they’re on top of their game and we are not. Don’t love the inconsistency with this team. Hope they turn it around quickly.

So here's a contrarian view certain to piss everyone else off.

Yesterday I raved about the great, great win in game 1. Today I'm saying that, if the Sox gotta lose, this was just about the best way to do it. yes, I'm mad because the lineup went 1 for 13 with RISP. Yes, maybe Price could have gone longer even though I now think he asked to be taken out. But the Twins are tough, have the best lineup (most runs, best OPS) in MLB, are playing good ball (winning), and had to be determined to win last night. The Sox, despite Price, did not roll over and in fact took the lead 3 times and along the way made some really good defensive plays (JBJ's grab and Vazquez picking off that guy on 3b with 1 or 2 outs--both huge--and in fact took the lead 3 times before going down in the 17th inning of their 15th game in 14 days.

So, me, I'm thinking last year's team just might be playing again tonight. they are back.

Our offense has gone cold but in fairness I was never thinking we would sweep the best offensive team in the league in Minnesota. If we win tonight we are doing well. 7 wins in our last 8 games and a series win against Minnesota. But yes the Yankees are embarrassing Tampa. Very surprising actually.

My god I think Snell is broken for Tampa..... 6 runs in the first friggin inning.... The Yankees are on another planet right now holy smokes.

I'd say it was more about Snell imploding. Yanks only had two hits on him (single and a short porch HR). He just couldn't find the plate, and the reliever they brought in behind him allowed all three inherited runners to score.

Aaaah that makes sense! Still.... Yankees are going to sweep them.

Looks like it now. Kinda crazy box score, Yanks have 12 runs but only 6 hits.

Ya I was a bit weirded out when I saw the stats lol.

Last night's game was a back breaker, but win tonight and all those bad feelings and sour tastes will be gone. Needless to say, it's very frustrating to lose a 17 inning game by 1 run, but that really is a good sign for the Sox. It might be harder to take, but it's better than being blown out 10-1.

Agreed Kimmi, we will get the bastards tonight.

Ya remember when Seattle kicked our butts at the beginning of the year lol! Oh what a distant memory now.
