The frequency with which this Big Dick Rick nickname gets used makes me think NESN has some sort of After Hours program I’m not watching...

Today is about hopefully hoisting The Stanley Cup and an all night party!

8 pm can't come soon enough.. OHHHHH BABY!

Go Bruins Go! (A few early goals will help ease the nerves)

The SOX are... I just.. I dunno. That inside the park job last night was officially rock bottom for me. The biggest problem is that they are simply not fun to watch right now.

The inconsistent play this year didn't sway me into thinking that they would not make the wild card.. until now. Texas looks like a playoff team.. and they look a level above us right now. This team is a friggin' mess. I'm worried about this year.

That is mainly where I am at too! Hoping to hell the Raptors pull it off tomorrow and win a championship for Canada. Would be so cool! The Red Sox have given me nothing to cheer about lately and in fact just make me mad..... I will worry more about the Sox after Hockey and NBA are over. Good luck to the Bruins tonight.

Lance Lynn is a decidedly average starter who got torched by the Sox last year.

And we are an average at best offense and I don't care what the stats say.... So this should be a good match up today.

Vic Carapazza is the homeplate ump today (the doofus who tossed Beni today). I hate that I have to learn another stupid umpire's name. That whole Angel Hernandez crew should be jettisoned to space.

Don't worry, Carapazza isn't vindictive or anything. https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/russell-martin-voices-displeasure-blue-jays-ejections/

If you walked around a quiet Toronto Blue Jays clubhouse Friday evening, following a 19-inning, 6.5 hour, ultra marathon of a ballgame, and asked about home plate umpire Vic Carapazza’s work that day, you’d get a lot of similar answers.

A lot of, “no comment.” A lot of, “it is what it is.” A lot of, “I mean, we all saw it.”

And that’s fair enough, because the MLB is listening. And the umpires are listening, too. And going off on a particularly atrocious afternoon of balls and strikes—not to mention several unwarranted, quick-trigger ejections—can lead to issues down the road, whether in the form of in-game treatment or a white envelope that appears in your locker saying you’ve been fined by the league.

Of course, Toronto has had issues with Carapazza before, notably in the second game of last season’s ALDS when neither the Blue Jays nor the Texas Rangers could make any sense of the strike zone Carapazza was calling.

Ohhhh... Should be another fun one!

We, even moonslav, are all worried about this year. I've re-watched that insider from last night at least 10 times and just don't see it the same way you do. Yes, Holt, was less than ideal in RF, but Pesky's pole/corner is tough for anyone because of how it is shaped. I have seen our outfielders in LF and CF misplay flies that near the wall which were more catchable than this one. So Holt's miss was not egregious.

After that, fate took a hand. The carom went to a perfect spot and settled near the wall at the 380' mark--too far for Mookie to do anything useful and apparently not visible to Holt, who might even have thought it went into the stands. To me it was more freakish than worthy of condemnation, especially when our biggest problem last night was the pitching,

I think the problem now is confidence, especially with the pitchers. Four good starters (without Eovaldi) should be enough, but Porcello and ERod have been too inconsistent and they are the two starters who pitched the most innings 12 and 15, respectively, in spring training. So this puts extra pressure on the bullpen, who have definitely had some good games this year, but ain't looking so hot lately.

And this. The real heart breaker was Monday night when Beni got the 2 run dinger in the 1st and Sale went 7, giving up 1 run (unearned thanks to boneheaded plays by Leon). The bullpen lost that one, but the lineup only scored 1 run in 10 innings after the 1st and butchered the 9th when the first two batters got on.

As unhappy as I am with this team so far this year, I do believe a turnaround is possible because that's the nature of MLB. And Thunder is a good choice to get that started.

To change their luck I believe the SOX players should all go with the Brett Gardner hair-do.

I don't like hair change.... Superman wore the mallet in the 90's after Death of Superman and his comicbook sales went down to tubes. (Granted I kind of liked his hair)

Grzelcyk suiting up and playing for the Bruins tonight. Hope he is not loopy. But glad to have him back.

Bruins have to play as they did in game 6 and we have to hope the refs don't totally swallow their whistles. IMO there is only one way for the Blues to win tonight's hockey game....MUGGINGS!

The Blues will look for soft rebounds if Rask gives them up. They are a good example of a Goon team. Rebound goals around the net with a dump n chase mentality.

The key to beating the Blues? Be ready and organized to counter their forechecking. As far as the zebras? The zebras are another story.

WTF happens when the Red Sox pitcher gets 2 outs on the opponent ? Now Rick is dodging bullets. Rather have Pence playing for us than some we have.

Porcello avoids the Porcello but has now contracted ERod disease, working his way back to the meat of the plate and BANG!
