Moreland is pounding the HR's, a most welcome result. Overall, he's making it somewhat all or none with the .222 average but then the team leading 18 rbi's. Glad to have him now. Depending on the 2B situation, Chavis and Moreland AT 1B sounds better than Moreland/Pearce

I think it's management telling him that they want to see the Chavis thing through.

Through to what? He is not a 2nd baseman and trying to hide somebody in your middle infield is pretty preposterous. If they really want him at 2nd they need to send him down and let him learn. Give me a healthy Holt over Chavis every day and twice on Sunday.

@alexspeier

Mitch Moreland has 9 homers and 6 singles this year. Why? After he broke his 0-for-15 with a homer yesterday, he offered a bit of insight: ‘Can’t shift that one.’

Healthy Holt? Is that an oxymoron?

On pace for 45 HR's.

WE MUST NOT RE-SIGN HIM THO BECAUSE WE NEED SAVINGS ON THE LUXURY TAX AND HIS SALARY IS TOO BURDENSOME.

Will he stay on pace to play the whole season (say 140 games ) ? Personally I hope so and have always liked watching him. Pretty much the definition of a professional.

Ewwwwwww, no. Holt is a good fill in guy. He's not someone you trot out every day.

I'm definitely rooting for him. I like guys who want to stay in Boston. Seems like a good dude too.

I agree. Cleavage is important.

Is Kimmi TV worthy ? I think NESN should provide a scrolling feed of Talksox game threads so other fans can now what is really going on during these games.

if Chavis keeps hitting...he is our 2bman this season...

Seconded! Definitely been a nice spark for this team. If not 2nd base then create a spot for him. I don't care if it's 2.5 base... He's been solid.

Have him sit on top of the wall and save balls from going out

Tzu Wei Lin's double changes the entire scenario at 2B for the rest of the season. Now he's a contender after Bogey gets his rest.

Chavis isn't at 2nd either. Put him at 1st and put Pierce and his $5M or whatever on ice. At least Chavis would not be right in the middle of the infield. X has enough of a workload coaching Rafi every day. Now you are going to stick him between Chavis and Rafi!!!!

By that logic, saying that JBJ has a single and a line shot today means that he should never miss a game in CF for the next 10 years

I like the way we've played over the last 48 hours. Flip the switch to May

It's been a breath of fresh air.... If we hang on to win this and with the White Sox and Orioles coming up.... I really see us going on a run before we play Seattle.

Thank Beni for executing what was needed. And Mookie brought the run in. Excellent team play. Amazing difference when the 7-8-9 hitters get on base (each) just once a game

I think he was being sarcastic... I hope.

Works for me! As long as that position means he still gets to bat :)

Even the worst hitters get a hit 1 or 2 times out of 10
