I think saddest part of sports is watching a guy you loved in his prime who was fantastic player, decline into a trash player... looks like we’re seeing this with Pedroia

Literally losing twice as many games as we are winning sounds like a long way from .500 ball let alone contending.

Yep. Machado didn’t help matters but this is the decline a lot of us foresaw saw a decade ago. It’s not the results, but the bat speed isn’t there anymore.

I just hope he realizes it; I fear he won’t.

Especially with 3 seasons of contract to complete (19-20-21). Forget the lux tax hit but someone will eventually have to tell him he's done. Some of the others like Pearce, Nunez, maybe Porcello won't be so difficult to move on no later than end of this season, if not July 31.

Doesn’t even seem like the same guy anymore. His bat speed is gone and I can’t even think of a time he made good contact. It’s all weak fly balls and grounders.

Mostly to the right side. The laser show is no more.

The scaffolding around the cathedral indicates it was under refurbishment. Maybe hot sparks from a welder sets it off, but that is a disaster for Paris.

IMO it was the greatest landmark in Paris. It is unbelievable.

I guess they won't be naming a hamburger after Thornburg in Boston.

The Thornburger

Quinoa patty, limburger cheese, ecoli lettuce, slim jims, and fish sauce on fungus buns.

5 games over the next 6 with Yankees and Rays will help clarify where this season may be going. Maybe everyone has the flu (probably from Holt's boy).

I know it’s early, but if they struggle there next few weeks, we may not recover

Just checked CNN. Man that fire is raging which makes me wonder if it is an accident. You would think fire officials could have gotten to that sooner than raging.

LOL, you forgot the rose thorns!

If that turns out to be arson, that is a sorry state of affairs.

perhaps the arsonist was one of the thousands of boys that have been molested by catholic priests.

Unfortunately all good things have to come to an end. Watching Peyton Manning his final year was cringe worthy :(

I hear ya'. The Church has been tone deaf, far too compliant and even complicit on that issue for decades. Father PullDownYourPants was/is no joking matter. That said you would have thought something at the Vatican itself would have been morel likely in that case.

Terrible game.

Cora needs to flip over the post game spread after this debacle. zero heart in a game on the anniversary of the marathon bombing is a very bad look IMO.

Looks like the Sox may now have a full house of issues--rotation, hitting, defense, and bullpen.

Blaming all of the above on Pedroia is kind of silly.

Much as I like Cora--and I do--I do have to repeat what I have said about every manager. Each must be evaluated on wins and losses vs. the expectations of the GM and/or owner. Nothing else counts. In this case the wins and losses look pretty awful, but we are still in April and only halfway through at that.

Nobody was blaming Pedroia. We were just noting he looks toast

He's certainly been part of the solution, instead of the hoped for comeback. It's early, yet, so let's not give up altogether. He's barely played for a long time. Hopefully, he just needs to shake off the cobwebs.
