Not giving up on the team, way too early for that. But all the pre-season hype of beating the HR record, winning over 100 games, being the best team in the league, etc. has started to dissipate. Now it's more like "don't dig too big of a hole before your injured players recover" mode. Not all that fun.

No, you are right, it sucks, but none of your injured players have been lost for the whole season (yet).

This one might help us. Ford is killing it

Yankee 1B OPS: .606.

Before the season started, I suggested this might be a weak area on the Yanks.

Had you signed Machado and moved Andujar to 1B...

I'd say that's more a product of injuries. Voit (.773 OPS) has been the DH in 75% of games so that Bird can get into the lineup. Had Hicks been healthy to start the year, Bird wouldn't have made the roster and Voit would be the primary first baseman.

the NYY have had enough injuries to impact starting players that none of their numbers so far should have been expected. granted, i dont feel bad for them or their fans but i do understand that this season is currently crazy bad luck/bad timing/perfect storm of injuries. i would expect a CC type to IL during these cold/early season games...but it is kind of ridiculous the amount of players currently on the NYY IL...

I actually welcome this injury. If Mike Ford gives us nothing, he will be equal to Bird.

I also can't wait to see tonight's lineup card.

Plus Bird kind of sucks. He’s like Sam Travis, but less of a hitter. And fielder. And probably baserunner.

He can only live on that one postseason home run in 2017 for so long...

We’d have Andujar on the IL and no Lemahieu, who is outplaying Machado right now

Maybe Andujar doesn't get hurt, if he was playing 1B.

(I also think Voit will not continue anywhere near this pace.)

Voits pace hasn’t been great. He’s reached base 25 games in a row dating back to last year, but he’s picket fencing it. His OPS isn’t solid right now, yet his at bats are good and he’s using the whole field. I expect better things from him as the weather warms. He’ll probably be a .260/30/100 guy for us and that’s be awesome, clearly assuming good health and continued playing time. That’s isn’t a given right now with Andujar barely throwing. If Andujar is cleared to swing but isn’t allowed to make long throws, he’ll likely supplant Voit and push him to the DH/ platoon role which would limit his numbers

Stanton hit off a pitching machine today and will progress to live BP tomorrow. Is possible to return next week.

Hicks has progressed to batting practice and is a week away from a rehab assignment. Likely to return early May

Andujar is swinging at "50%" with no issues. He's made throws from 60 feet with no issues. No timetable as of yet

Sanchez is running and should be back come Sunday

Severino is prohibited from throwing a baseball for another 5 weeks. Estimated to return in July at some point.

Tulo ran on the field and took BP. He may progress to a rehab assignment soon. Looks like a late April or early May return

We are working towards getting healthy

Now, Judge...

NEW YORK -- Aaron Judge became the latest Yankee to land on the injured list, and as much as the team misses its leader and biggest offensive threat, the slugger believes his club will succeed during his absence. “They’re going to be just fine,” Judge said. “Just like you guys

A lot of injuries. At some point, this can't be a coincidence (or bad luck) anymore. . . .

I think they're doing it on purpose to make some kind of point to management.

Maybe they’re all faking injuries and are upset about that whole “percentage of revenue” thing

So when can we start using the dreaded “prone” label on Judge?

Or how about this one: Judge and Stanton are "musclebound".

The Yankees have too many of the hulk type bodies...

Manager Aaron Boone said on Sunday that Judge’s oblique strain was "pretty significant." There is no timetable for Judge's return, according to the skipper.
