He was absolutely terrible today, no doubt. The only thing he did was allow us to recoup our pen guys by having it be so lopsided. Pen should be pretty fresh for tomorrow vs Toronto

I think Holder has reached the end of his leash. He's given up 13 runs in his past 5 innings of mop up duty. Send him down and let him re-earn his way back up to the bigs (like Chad Green did).

Agree entirely. Holders stuff is really good. He just decides not to trust it. He’s a nibbler. When you’re up 8, you don’t nibble. Don’t know if that was the culprit last night as I was sleeping after the Hicks HR, but that’s been his issue. I’d send him down and bring up Feyereisen.

It looked like he was tipping his pitches somehow, or wasn't hiding the ball long enough during delivery. The grand slam was on an 0-2 count I believe and it was off of a fastball high and out of the zone. Every hitter was on every pitch he was throwing.

I have the same feeling with the 2019 Yankees that I did at this time last summer for the Red Sox. Tonight may not be the first time this year the Chase for 28 was achieved

I'm feeling something similar, although I need to see Severino back or a major pitching acquisition before I clinch that feeling

Good news is I'll be at my busiest in October, so I'll have an excuse not to watch their playoff run. But then again, I did make time to watch the Sox do that last year...

Even though we won, wow that ump today was brutal to us. Our pitchers and hitters got squeezed and I'm never one to complain about the strike zone but jeeze.

One thing I notice about Boone . He never learns . With a big lead , he will try to get by using some jabroni out of the pen . Then leave him in until things get tight and he starts to get nervous . Guys like Holder and Adams should be on a very short leash .

If you can't use your scrubby relievers in 11 and 8 run games then why bother having them on the team. They just need to do a less s***** job.

I can see using them with a big lead , but get them out of there sooner when they start to implode . Obviously , you can't use your best guys every day .

Keep in mind the Yankee starting pitchers only lasted a total of 1.2 innings in the 2 games.

We didn't use a starter in game 2. Our "bulk" guy gave us 4 shutout innings. Boone clearly wanted to avoid 40% of our rotation on that makeshift turf. German returns this week. Who the hell knows if he will be any good, but if he can locate his dynamite stuff, we will be rolling again. Thankfully, we have such a nice cushion that we have some wiggle room to keep playing the pen arm game

Yanks having trouble getting runs on the Mets.

One of the few times all year that I'm on the same page as the few Mets fans that are here in CT

German had only 80 pitches thru 6, it looks like he's ready to go.

I was expecting a more conservative approach on his recovery, but he looked fine

No way they were letting him go 7 after he triumphantly returned. Interestingly, our rotation is shaping up outside of the clunker thrown by Tanaka. German looked every bit as dominant as he was before his bad/injured stretch. Paxton was dominant vs the Mets. Happ was rolling before his most recent start. CC has been as expected as a 5th starter. We need another starter, IMO, to make noise in the POs. I am fine with a top 3 of Tanaka, Paxton, German in the POs. I am not fine with CC or Happ as the 4. I would theoretically like to add an ace and move all 3 down. Severino looks like he wont be back until the end of August, if at all

Sanchez in a slump, last 30 days hitting .229. Happ has given up 20 HRS already, in 84 innings. For Tampa Meadows in a big slump too, hitting .183 last 30 days. Edited by OH FOY!

Sanchez is in a slump since Judge came back from the IL, here are his numbers since 6/21

Avg OBP SLG

.158 / .238 / .263

I don't think is related, but Sanchez was almost carrying the team before 6/21
