You need 5 guys rolling in a lineup to stay a consistent force. Right now, we don’t have 5 MLB quality hitters in the lineup, let alone guys who are rolling. Within 2 weeks we should see Stanton, Sanchez and Andujar’s bats back in the lineup with Hicks not too far off. We need to survive the peaks and valleys in the interim

It's too bad you can't play the Sox every game.

Maybe the next time the boys celebrate a win with a fog machine and strobe lights in the clubhouse, they should try a little harder to beat a bunch of jabronis like the Royals the next night .

I can never understand the call overturning a HR on a ball that actually is leaving the park. Torres hits one clearly out of the park. On the lateral view, the ball is clearly going to be a few inches above the glove. A fan catches the ball but makes contact with the glove of Gordon. Torres called out. This is similar to the Betts play on Altuve last year. It's a bad call all around. If a ball is leaving the park and is now in the reach of a fan, the ball should be a HR. It just should be. Asking fans to protect themselves but not catch a ball hit to them is counterintuitive. Garbage call

He’s 1.3mph off from where he was before and he isn’t locating. There’s something wrong. I know it wouldn’t be popular, but I’d IL him and bring up Acevedo

Boonie is still a dumb dumb . He sees something in Green that is not there . If he brings in Britton to pitch the eighth , the Yankees win easy without the drama . I do give the Yankees credit for being where they are despite being absolutely decimated by injuries.

If you’re gonna give him work, up 5 against the Royals isn’t a bad way to go. My question is why we didn’t go to Britton once Green was in trouble. Mondesi does hit lefties better, but Ottavino is death on righties alone while Britton is actually really tough on righties and then Gordon after that.

I am worried about Green. His FB isn’t as hard and the location isn’t near as good. One thing he didn’t do the last 2 seasons was walk guys and he cannot find the zone or miss the barrel. Either his mechanics are off or his body is off and we shouldn’t be figuring this out in the majors. The one thing this farm has is guys who can pitch, especially guys who can pitch out of the pen. Bring up Domingo Acevedo and IL Green to get his s*** straight

On a positive note, Paxton is on fire. 14 shutout innings, 24 K’s in his last two starts. He’s as dominant as they come. Let’s hope he can avoid the bug going around the clubhouse

The angels are dreadful. After that massive contract to trout they will be irrevelant for a long time. Nobody gets to see trout either since the games are so late lol

What a game. I was up into the tenth before I called it quits. It’s rough enough to watch after a shift for 9 innings of west coast baseball. Either way, this rag tag group of nobodies keeps winning games and grinding. They have heart, I’ll give them that.

But we do have to add another f***ing injury. Frazier sprained his ankle, although he stayed in there and says he will play through it. Thank goodness, but I’d move him to DH for a game or two and line Wade or Lemahieu up with Gardner and Tauchman our there

Chap was due for a blown save. He's never really a regularly clean inning guy, but he has the potential to walk three then K three every time he hits the mound. He didn't have it last night from the highlights. So be it. We picked him up. You know, this team is so interesting. We literally have an All-Star NL squad complete with a setup man and closer on the DL

C- Sanchez

1B- Bird

2B- Tulo

SS- Gregorius

3B- Andujar

LF- Stanton

RF- Judge

CF- Hicks

SP- Severino

SP- Montgomery

SU- Heller

CL- Betances

That team above wins a playoff spot in every division in baseball and they're on the DL. What the Yanks are showing right now is tremendous grit and depth beyond expected. Cashman needs to get serious kudos for bringing these guys in to back up the squad. Once we start getting healthy, we are gonna be tough to beat. It is mostly a small ball team we have out there. Happ was dominant yesterday. Under 90 pitches through 7 innings and outside of a Lucroy HR, was unhittable. Our pen, sans Chap, was awesome too. Cessa is really grabbing onto the role Green had as a reliever. Strange, because we got the two of them together in the same trade. I continue to advocate for Green to go to AAA on an IL stint and het his s*** right and bringing up Acevedo. Cannot be worse

The new and unimproved lineup is pretty dreadful (as evidenced by Matt Harvey cruising through 6 innings in under 80 pitches). But the pitching is really keeping them in games, specifically the starting pitching. I think they have a sub-2 ERA over the past 9 or so games. Granted we haven't played anyone good, but still impressive. Boone is mostly an idiot but he deserves some credit for keeping this team motivated despite the litany of injuries.

They sent down Harvey and kept Green on the squad. WTF?

I'm guessing Harvey will be back pretty soon. They just needed a long man for today with the bullpen burnt out and German, who could give us anywhere from 2 to 7 innings, pitching tonight.

This team is gritty. Voit is coming into his own as a leader here, mostly because no other leader is still standing besides Gardy. Speaking of him, he’s on fire again. The backups have been clutch and may have built enough equity or be useful not only to help now, but could be useful in deals later
