And most of us played baseball at some point. And we probably all had that teammate who just flat out dominated and we thought should make the majors one day. But how many of those teammates did? And if he did, was he any good?

There haven't been all that many players from my COUNTRY that have had highly successful MLB careers.

So are you saying you didn’t play Little League ball with Doug Froebel?

Off the top of my head, the only MLB player I can think of from the Atlantic Provinces (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI and Newfoundland), is Matt Stairs.

WWell, I gave it a sample try, and here's what came out: (you can plug in the names)

2nd base, 3rd base, DH, RF, SS, LF, CF, LF and C.

That'll work!

You can pick this linup out of a hat!

^^Truth.

I've been saying this for years.

It's going to be tough to throw anyone out without someone at 1B.

I didn't know he lived in Bangor, just that he was born in Saint John, New Brunswick.

yup - In Canada, hockey season does not end!

Hockey is it here.

My community of Halifax/Dartmouth has produced the great Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon (currently 4th in NHL point scoring) and Brad Marchand of the Bruins (currently 13th in points).

Where I am right now, I am surrounded by Canadians. Some of the nicest people I have known. We think that we are super fans of the Sox, just get these folks going with respect to their hockey. Proud and tough is the way I would describe them - men and women. Where I am from in Maine, summer basketball is a big deal. You want to win then you better have and run a good program. I was in Canada (Nova Scotia) just a few years ago in the middle of July. I could not believe the number of kids participating in the all things hockey programs that I saw. It was impressive.

I've said this before - Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Maine are very similar places. Whenever I've been in Maine I have always felt very much at home.

The exchange rate just makes it hard for some of these folks. I'm not an economist (just a teecha) so I really don't understand why it has to be this way.

The french canadians are some of the rudest people on the planet, not to mention cheap as well. I dread when they come down in the winter.

Maybe they’re rude. But maybe they just know you :)

Yes, I can relate to that.

Not surrounded by them folk I guess. I'm sitting here thinking about where the people in our country come from that I have considered to be pretty rude. Boston and New York certainly don't get free passes.

Yeah, but I think the rudeness has more to do with the "French" than the "Canadian".

The only ones I hate are the ones running the Canadiens into the ground.

I had a baseball videogame about ten years ago, forget which one. I could often quite easily throw out someone at 1B on a ball hit to RF.

I think it was the same game where I put the season mode on easy setting and Vladimir Guerrero had 90 HRs before the end of May. Let's be honest, where's the fun in playing a baseball game unless you're winning every game 38-0?

My maternal grandmother was French Canadian and my mother was born in Drummondville. Come to think of it . . . .
