After this ohh so sweet win tonight, who would you prefer the Red Sox to play against in the 2018 WORLD SERIES and why?

I think that the Brewers would give us more problems than the Dodgers. Obviously MLB is hoping for the Dodgers but they have been the most boring team to watch this post season. That is, unless you find Machado’s antics to be entertaining.

Watch out, we may be favored against either.

The Sox have won three WS in this century--the John Henry era so far--and lost none. The pitching is nowhere near as good as it was in 2013, but the lineup is, in the words of the Astros manager, relentless, and the pitching and defense can surprise you.

A lot of unknowns with the Dodgers and Brewers because we don't play them often and not at all this season. So one presumes the scouts have been doing their jobs. We do know that both teams have pretty good pitching and so-so hitting and that the Sox just took 4 of 5 from a team with very good pitching and pretty good hitting. Playing in their ballparks will be tricky because JDM is our best postseason hitter and Cora will be very reluctant to lose one of his regular outfielders. Too bad Mookie doesn't play 2b any more. Wouldn't that be a fix?

I've been rooting for the Brewers out of sheer enmity for the Dodgers, but weather-wise Milwaukee can get chilly even with climate change.

Who are the DH's, for the Brewers and Dodgers? Right there will be a big advantage for the Sox.

Granderson for the Brewers? Cant think Dodgers.

Dodgers I feel will be a tougher Opponent, they have the Pitching to get hot in a short series. I want the Brewers, I just like that team, and how they gut out wins.

I like the Brewers because it's nice to see new teams make the Series from time to time and it has been awhile since the Brew Crew were this good.

If it's the Brewers, that would be back-to-back series against teams that jumped leagues.

I'm going to keep beating that same drum....

I want it to be the Brewers. At least we could be reasonably certain all of our players would remain healthy going into the future. There's no telling what a cheap-shot artist would do when his attitude is "I just come here to do anything I can to help my team win".

There's also another factor -- the Brewers would have a "happy to be here" effect in play for them that might not be there for the Dodgers. I honestly think the Brewers, who haven't been this deep in the postseasin in the players' lifetimes, are much more likely to get to the Serues then fall apart, like the Rockies did in 2007

The Brewers have a ragtag rotation that just seems to get it done, but their bullpen is flat out scary...

The HOU bullpen had a much better season than MIL.

One could argue the Brewers should have the same “happy to be here” effect in the NLCS, but they’re still battling. Counting on their collapse is tantamount to taking them lightly.

And just because no one has worn a Brewers uniform in the World Series doesn’t make them completely inexperienced, as they have several players who have played in the Fall Classic before, including Lorenzo Cain, Mike Moustskas, and Joakim Soria, to name a few...

The Astros bullpen had a rough series. That doesn’t mean Milwaukee’s will also collapse...

I don't believe in the "happy to be here" effect. After the first series, that stuff is out the window.

It doesn't mean the Sox can't beat up the MIL bullpen.

Even postseason wise, LAD have better reliever numbers.

Agreed. Plus some of their guys have been here before, as I mentioned...

Part of that might be because no manager has gone to his bullpen faster than Counsell. And I don’t mean this postseason; I mean in postseason history...

I think the Brewers would be an interesting matchup just because it's an "odd" matchup insofar that I don't think many people believed the Brewers would really get this far.

Los Angeles has a beautiful stadium and the unis are really sharp. I believe a lot of people though the Doyers could go all the way. They've never been able to get over that hump tho.

Yeah but I can’t get to LA for a game. Milwaukee is less than an hour away.

Go Brew Crew !!

This.

Doesn't matter. The Red Sox would have to have a lot go wrong to lose a series to either of these teams.

Sox in 6.

I agree. We just played the World Series. Red Sox and Astros were the two best teams all season long. I'm rooting for LA, so we can give them another taste of playoff chokage. If that series goes 7, then we don't see Kershaw in game 1, I would imagine. Roberts would probably try to use him in some significant capacity. He could still start, but it would be on 2 days rest of whatever work he'll put in tomorrow

I still have a lot of friends back in LA and I'm not the type to rub their noses in anything. The Lakers/C's finals were bad enough. I hope it's MIL. Except, now I'm going to have to really learn how to spell Milwaukee.
