One thing that is a huge issue is the f***ing walks. You cant give teams in the playoffs free base runners every inning. Also, unless its in extra innings and were almost out of pitchers, there is no way guys like Workman and Hembree should ever see the field in one run games. They're middle relief guys.

Even if Astro’s didn’t get this last homerun. We just looked dead flat offensively. No way we could have won this game tonight even if Sale went 6 scoreless innings.

I am just sick of losing to this team. Again I mentioned nothing’s a guaranteed for next season.

I know Cora got kicked out of the game and all but I'm guarantee he's the one making the moves from where he is and to not have kimbrel pitched the 9th is a joke

its pretty sad that the only reason dumb f*** hembree gets out of the inning is a caught stealing after he walks the red sox 10th man of the night, and then a line drive out. nice job doofus

why the f*** is heath hembree on the playoff roster
I have defended Dombrowski all year but having guys like Workman and Hembree on the ALCS roster is a joke. They are horrible. Its like having a 10 man staff. The Sox have to get a bullpen next year.

Yep. It’s one thing they avoided against the Yankees, especially in NY. Absolutely awful tonight.

Actually, I shouldn't complain. I'm only watching on TV--for free--and can change channels any time I want. But what about the loyal fans who paid top dollar to come to this ALCS game? They're watching Sox fold like a cheap tent and doing it in one the 3 or 4 worst ball parks in MLB (and by that I mean sightlines).

I know the Astros have good pitching. The whole world knows. But 2 bare singles by the highest scoring team in MLB this years? If Verlander hadn't had that inexplicable cold spell, the Sox would be shut out with the 9th coming up.

Agreed. Reminds me of the NBA last year. Houston Rockets has the best season record but everyone knew Golden State was still going to beat them. That’s like this series. We have the better record but I would be very surprised if many picked us to win this series. I just hope we can make it close.

I'm usually not big on judging bullpen moves, especially because most of Cora's moves have worked, but going to Workman there was just mind boggling. I'd maybe understand if it was a game in May, but in the playoffs? Every run matters and you don't want to have the middle tier guys losing the game while your best pitcher is sitting in bullpen.

I mean the warriors also had multiple injuries during the regular season and rested guys and didn't care about the regular season AT ALL. and the playoff formats in both sports are completely different.. and even as a warriors fan, to be fair, if chris paul didn't get hurt badly, the rockets might've won that series.

We have to get to Cole early and often tomorrow.

We have to win tomorrow. Don't matter, how you do it, you just do it.

The story tonight isn’t the outcome. If someone told you before the game that Verlander would beat Sale, I’d think most people would say, so what? The most important thing from tonight was Sale looked bad from the start. No location, no velocity, nothing. If you’re to advance, he needs to be on point in game 5. Suddenly, David Price’s start tomorrow becomes almost a must win.

Good point. But Houston astros also had injuries this year too or I guarantee they might have hit 110 wins.
