Eovaldi vs. Severino

Both righties, edge to Severino, but on August 4 and Sep 18 Eovaldi went 14 innings and gave up 0 runs--and the latter game was in the Bronx. Severino is back, no question--he was terrific in the wild card game. But I expect our pitching to be pretty good, including the bullpen. The starters won/lost the first two games and that could well be the case tonight.

Betts RF

Benintendi LF

Martinez DH

Bogaerts SS

Devers 3b

Pearce 1B

Holt 2B

Vazquez C

Bradley CF

Cora rolls the dice with three new faces--Holt @ 2B (long overdue), Devers @ 3B (a gamble made easier by Nunez horrible defense in game 2), and Vazquez at C. I like this lineup and I even like the bullpen after Saturday's game. Time to win one for a pretty darn good fan base, especially the ones on this site.

Max

I like the aggressiveness by Mookie. If he had pulled it, it was gone.

Same for Bogaerts. Warning track power kills HR's

homework? Are you talking house chores?

No, I'm talking actual schoolwork. Next week I have two midterms, one of which comes on my birthday

I think we'll crush Sevirino through the order twice.

Well two of the outs in the first went at least 380, so that's a good sign

Why don't you go troll somewhere else. You are a Yankee fan and no Sox fan wants you in here. I wish the moderator would just ban you. Loser!

Jacko has been on this site a very long time, he's no troll. On the other hand, if you keep jumping on him for every post he makes, you might be. There are Yankees fans on this site, get over it.

It's the contact. Betts, Benni, JD, Xander can make good contact, the guys from 5-9 need to put up good AB before those guys comes up to bat.

Gotta keep them in the middle of the field. Mookie's, I thought, was gone. Bogey's looked like a routine out until it was caught on the track

BTW Cora was fuming over EdRod effort yet again. He needs to lit a fire under his lazy ass.

Yeah, he didn't seem to care when he gave up the bomb to Sanchez

Also, with the LA Dodgers about to close out the Braves, the entire baseball world will be watching NYY-BOS. Pretty sweet, IMO

Yeah, we get the spotlight for the rest of the week, assuming this goes 5 like you keep saying

Betts crushed it to the wrong part of the ball. Stat cast gave it a good 405 FT distant and 104 MPH exit with 92 hit probability. I think in summer it's long gone

It likely is, that is why I am saying you gotta keep them in the middle of the field. Wet, cold air will keep the balls down

Calling that simply a bomb is minimizing it a bit. That homer was an A-bomb

I agree. One of the hardest hit and farthest HRs I've ever seen
