Exactly. To paraphrase my Bull Durham reference, if Price thinks he pitches better with Leon behind the plate, then he does.

I think that the results a pitcher gets are 99% on the pitcher, not the catcher. Swihart is a fine choice as a catcher-he has earned a job. We do need a second catcher; that would be Leon.

Most SP'ers do better with Leon, and there's a reason some only pitch to Leon.

He's earned the job? Off of what? Is it that .228 average or the .294 OBP or the .582 OPS?

Fred. Why so fixated on offense with a defense first position?

 

I don't mind Leon or Vasquez catching IF Devers is not in the game too. The other guys can cover for the fact that those two are black holes. But Swihart hits better and runs better than both of them-and his defense is acceptable too.

That is not likely to work post season and I doubt Cora will try it post season unless he has no other option.
