7 run rule may get challenged soon. Rick P. is pissed, rightfully, at Barrett's B-S calls. but his reaction to pressure is to blow, not regain command.

Oh that's right, the independent league baseball player Sandy Leon is catching tonight. I blame this game on him--he isn't doing enough for the starting pitcher. He has been failing this pitching staff lately.

Get Swihart in there, at least he has some potential as a hitter.

Blake definitely brings more to the table.

The Red Sox will have an interesting decision to make in the postseason--do they put Leon or Vazquez on the roster? That is like deciding between tweedledum and tweedledee.

It doesn't make sense to put both on the roster, since they are similar players.

Most would agree, me included, but Cora see things differently. Why replace a catcher who isn't hitting with one who is? I sometimes wonder if Cora was manager of the Marlins, if he would do a worse job than Mattingly?

I understand the calling game thing and all, but Blake has shown he can call it well too. Also he can run and hit better than Leon, and is not even close.

Actually, he struck him out. Ball 2 was an easy strike call that Barret didn’t call.

If Barret had called a legitimate strike zone tonight, it would not have affected the Red Sox who are being No Hit, but Porcello may have been able to contain the damage to only 1 or 2 runs. The 11 run inning was fun to watch but it's really only another random baseball exhibition, not indicative of what is going on.

The White Sox have been playing over .500 ball since the ASB. Not sure they can be labeled Triple A any longer. I believe the SOX are playing .850 ball against Triple A teams this season.

I said the first time they met in Boston, the White Sox have a decent amount of young talent that would probably get better as the year went on. I was scoffed at. Yet it is exactly what is exactly what has happened post ASB.

Especially on nights like this when Leon has to take some blame for Porcello's struggles. If Leon would do a better job back there, maybe he finds a way to get Porcello through that first inning.

Leon's catcher ERA has gone up ever since Sale went on the DL. Imagine that.

As far as Leon's offense goes, he has no offensive game. His bat is comparable to a guy in the independent league. His OPS+ is 52.

EEI booth crew has come to the same conclusion I reached months ago. If you avoid FB's and throw our RH hitters sliders and two seams, you can own our RH hitting corp. Changes and cutters and you can own our LH hitting corp.

We have more talent. Unfortunately with one exception the team has been sleepwalking lately.

Any ideas why this pitching staff is falling apart? Having one or two starters and one or two re;ievers is not going to win playoff series'/

Pitching coach to Giolito: "Why the f*** didn't you throw Sandy another Change?

i appreciate your stuff because it is often what I'm seeing to with respect to hitters.

So since “we have more talent” than every other team in baseball, the Red Sox should be an undefeated?
