Porcello has got to find a way to get to and through the 5th inning or this will turn into a mess an hour after showing up in Chicago.

Nice job by Porcello locking up the 4th spot in the playoff rotation. I would prefer giving the fourth spot to Eovaldi, with Porcello pitching out of the bullpen (he is the weakest starter out of the four) but since Porcello will be totally useless as a bullpen piece, it makes more sense to move Eovaldi to the bullpen and keep Porcello in the rotation.

Porcello>Eovaldi. Neither is very good.

When is he going to come back?

No one speculates. All you get is that he feels good, whatever. I think he has got to be hurting in some way to not be scheduled for a return even if it was a week or two.

IF —Big if here— this happens, we will win. Their starting pitcher sucks and their pen, even more jung.

Following up on a theme from a previous game, Porcello's problems are directly attributable to Leon's pitch calling. If Sandi would call tough pitches to hit, none of this would happen.

Given how much the pen had to be used the last 2 games and will likely be needed the next couple games, Porcello may just have to take the pounding, especially if the offense does nothing. He knows the deal.

I'd heard the middle of September.

Wonder why all this mystery. We need him badly— “not right now” but definitely.

Giolito gets 5 K's and no hits through 3 innings. With very few pitches in the strike zone. Lots of movement on his 2 seamer. Edited by vegasbob

The White Sox aren't just going to roll over for the Red Sox. The Red Sox had better come to play or this series could be embarrassing.

They also are playing pretty well right now, they are 11-4 over the past couple weeks.

That is true, but he is POR's personal catcher because POR feels comfortable pitching to him.

Well with Rick out there, Sandi doesn't get to catch too many pitches because several of them get redirected at the plate by hitters

This is such a lame performance from porcello knowing we need him to go late into the game. In terms of sale i hope he comes back and makes 3 to 4 starts. I don’t want this guy to be rusty.

Oh that's right, the independent league baseball player Sandy Leon is catching tonight. I blame this game on him--he isn't doing enough for the starting pitcher. He has been failing this pitching staff lately.

Get Swihart in there, at least he has some potential as a hitter.

Porcello better get his s*** together with playoffs just around the corner. Man has been solid most of the year. But damn he is sliding now.
