Barnes gives it up , in an otherwise well pitched game. But then I guess Matt needs to work on his split finger. Meanwhile I enjoy giving Barnes the finger whether he does well or not.

Has everyone on the SOX stopped hitting in the last 15 innings or has Tampa's pitching just been that good. I tend to believe it's the Rays' pitching. That last guy Alvarado was just plain nasty.

On the first 6 games of their current road trip, 3 in TO and 3 in NY, the Rays only gave up 9 runs - 1.5 per game.

Well its still a bloop and a blast from a tie game.

I think I will rationalize that they are looking ahead to Cleveland. Almost a shame that series starts on Monday. Easy to look ahead.

My god people. Blaming Matt Barnes when the offense has scored a big fat ZERO runs.

It's a long story but Matt is well along his way to the 20 pitch minimum for a reliever.

Tight game and the guy gives up a big run. These are the games you see in October. Pressure situations. It’s easy to pitch when the game’s 6-0.

So you think Cash has something with this crazy Pitching moves? Future of Pitching Games?

The Slider..I don't ever want to hear about the Slider being the mystery pitch for this Red Sox team ever again! Had enough of that thank you. But don't think the league is not watching this.

Our bats have been in a lull for about a week.

You are right about that. 4 hits last night and two tonight. Bets has cooled off Don't knnow why the team goes into these spells but it happens. Here we see so so pitching getting the best of us. I don't understand it, but it is happening. They need to snap out of it so as not to lose to Cleveland, who is hot of late.

Can't score 5 runs every games. We've been spoiled so far this year. There will most likely be a slump coming soon where they'll play 500 ball for 15-20 games.

Nice to see Velazquez and our pen do well. This is two days in a row for our pen.

I think those two days off sandwiched around the Philly series helped.

Time for the O to turn it on again.

One's so-so pitching might be described as excellent pitching by another, who is more objective.

The trouble with rooting for a .700 team is that they lose 30% of the time.

They gotta win series. This division could be over but you never know. Skankees are banking on the Guardians to take 3 out of 4 from us.

How embarrassing would it be if Beeks held the SOX runless for 5+ innings?

He didn't quite get 5 innings, but it figures that he would pitch great against us.

Our former players seem to have a knack for playing well against us.

Well we have 4 with the Guardians coming up. I wouldn’t say never. Our schedule gets a little tougher coming up.

If the Red Sox can't hold a 10.5 game lead (now 9.5), then we don't deserve to be division champs.

That said, relax. We got this.

Valezquez should have started all those Pomeranz games. He has done sneaky well in his appearances.

JD needs to hit 3rd, Cora.

Please explain the big deal about him hitting 3rd instead of 4th.

Coming into today's game he had a 1098 OPS hitting 4th and a 1041 OPS hitting 3rd.

So better numbers hitting 4th.

And he leads the majors in RBI.

Well we may lose this game. But if we lose it 1-0 against a team in a bullpen game from the first inning, I am going to need paramedics and resuscitation.

Thank goodness we lost it 2-0. ;)

Losing one of three to the Rays isn't as bad as losing to the s*** teams I posted earlier. Plus, this game isn't over yet.

Winning the series is always the goal. As frustrating as the offense was today, the goal was accomplished.

Can't really complain.
