That is what I have been thinking.

Hammies and quads are the biggest muscles. Maintaining hydration has to be emphasized.

I am no doctor, however.

Good point, after seeing all the water they have left to dump on the star of the game, they clearly aren't drinking enough of it.

When a pitcher is tearing through the opposituon like a buzzsaw, you don’t go to the bullpen for the formulaic save. I like that Cora left him in. I hate managing by formula.

Perhaps you missed it but Cora was in the clubhouse after being ejected following Severino's very first pitch in the 1st inning.

Two astonishing games back to back. Wow.

Porcello was just unreal. Yes, a few got hit hard, but overall he was unbelievably on his game. So much so this was the best game pitched by any Sox starter this year, and I am including all of Sale's starts in that comparison. Everything was working.

Agree with Cora about what happened in the 1st. To me there was no equivalency between Gardner's HBP--it was obvious to me he wanted to get hit in the shoulder and thereby get on base--his only time all night on base--and Severino going for Mookie's head. Huge difference between those two pitches. Then tossing Cora was ridiculous. Poor baby. Poor defenseless umpire having to hear harsh words. Had I been on his ump team, I would have immediately run over to protect him from that vicious manager with his unseemly language.

I don't know that the heck Cora is doing, but these guys are playing out of their minds. Was that Mookie playing errorless ball at 2B? Are the Sox stealing that subpar Yankee catcher blind (or is it the Yankees pitchers)?

Boone blaming injuries for Yankems' play recently. Yup, thank goodness the SOX are 100% healthy. Boone also said that the pitch inside to Betts slipped. Finally, it was the 1st base ump who instructed the HP ump to declare the warning.

When they make a movie of this season, Alan Alda has agreed to play the head of the SOX medical staff, but only if there are helicopters in the film. The name of the movie will be SOX MASH. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

i don't believe that prevents Core from communicating to the dugout.

Wow, this game was over quick. I completely missed the whole game, but I will take it! This guarantees worst case scenario we have 5 1/2 game lead, which is amazing. Fantastic job by Porcello. Hopefully Kinsler isn't hurt seriously. I haven't seen the play or anything yet..

Red Sox' manager Alex Cora said after Friday's game that Ian Kinsler (hamstring) could be headed to the disabled list.

Kinsler was forced to leave Friday's game due to tightness in his left hamstring. If he is indeed forced to hit the disabled list, the Red Sox will have to find a way to patch things together in the infield until Xander Bogaerts is able to swing a bat.

Well.. That's not good.

What the holy baloney with all these injuries.

It's getting ridiculous It sounds like Mookie may be playing more 2B, especially if Xander ends up needing a DL stint also.

I don’t think so. Lin will be back

I know my friend... Great to see Porcello pitching this way.

Healthy everyday players for the SOX:

Betts

Beni

JD

Pearce

Moreland

Holt

Nunez

JBJ

Leon

Lin

Butler

Of course this could change by the start of tomorrow's game.

Where are all the posters who roasted our "weak bench?"

True, we added Pearce & Kinsler since those statements, but still...

Brilliant work by Porky tonight. Just rewatched the highlights of his game and one of the things that immediately stood out to me was the number of 3 pitch strikeouts. 9 innings, 86 pitches. Phenomenal. You can't do it better than that.

Maybe? I haven't heard. What I don't understand is why no team offers some salary relief for Castillo, and take a chance on him. He's tearing it up in Pawtucket, 2 very good years back-to back.

I'm not that good with the way this all works, but it might be the same reason he's not on our 40 man. I'm guessing that if another team took him and had him on their 40 man roster, the money the redsox were paying him would go towards their luxury tax.

Rick Porcello should get a Nobel Prize in physics for keeping a Red Sox-Yankees game under three hours. There's no way he didn't tamper with the fabric of space-time to make that happen. 86 pitches? Are you kidding me? That's like four at-bats in a typical game between these two teams.
