Now Cora pulls him, nice.

Hate to agree with Jacko...ever...but Cora should have pulled him after the leadoff walk. And that was a no brainer. Just stupid.

One of Pomeranz's problems is that his name is actually Thomas Andrew. Maybe Tommy Pommy was not serious enough for him.

Another error by Devers....his act is getting very very old.

It would be different if he did something offensively, but with weak offense and league worst defense, he is a liability. We really don't have an alternative at this point.

This f***ing bum walked a guy hitting .220 then gave up a bomb to his buddy hitting .217. If this jack ass can't pitch event decent against Orioles, who the f*** can he do well against?

The walk was the killer. Beckhem is hitting about .290 against lefties.

Problem right now is that who takes the #5 spot. Johnson is servceable. Velazquez hasn't gone more than 2 or 3 innings since very early in the season and Beeks really hasn't shown much, and at the same time they are trying to keep Sales IPs down.

Still, Remy is right, should have had Thornburg up and warming to start the inning. This game ain't going 9, it may not get to the 6th.

Remember Doubront. A spitting image.

Daisuke and Doubront were awesome to watch. I loved those 5 hour games. Pomeranz is in that class for sure.

I'm hoping its someone in a trade, doesn't even have to be a great player, just someone better than Pomeranz and Beeks (shouldn't be too hard). a 4-5 type would be perfect get.

Be nice if Pearce had 3rd base experience. Oh, well, the SOX will have to bite the bullet at 3rd base.

It depends on how soon ERod comes back-if he comes back. If the medical staff (gag gag) thinks he is lost for the season or close to it we will need another SP. Otherwise we can temporize with Velasquez.

With a man on first and two outs, why does our relief pitcher take the count to 3 and 2 and then he is able to throw two consecutive strikes. That just puts it into a situation where the runner is going and could score on a single. It didn't happen but seems to be an error in judgment.

Based on Thornburg's in the rain clean up of Pom's mess , Cora looks even worse in his decision to leave Tom out there. Now it's not a question of just getting one or two runs to tie or lead, you need to get 3 outs in the bottom of the 6th to make it official. Major f***up after Blake and Betts bailed him out.

It wasn't like Pomeranz had shown superior stuff all night. He was hit hard on several balls.

If we lose the ALE by a game Cora should look back at this game as the reason we are the WC. July 24. Just a dumb dumb decision.

The problem is Velazquez is not stretched out.

I'm more concerned when the SOX medical staff says it's day to day.

Not yet...but he could potentially give us 4-5 innings as he GETS stretched out. If ERod is coming back in another couple or three weeks it doesn't make a lot of sense to sign a SP IMO.....

Pomeranz is going to get another couple of starts , but they aren't going to go much more than that if he doesn't show something.

I hate losing to teams that stink. All pomeranz needed to do was have a clean 5th inning and he couldn’t even do that.

I wouldn’t give him any starts after tonight. The guy can’t even beat the birds with a subpar lineup.

Bad ass game... giving the lead right back after a couple of surprising "game winning" homers, and then the rains come with martinez at the plate. May they wait forever to get this one in.... tomorrow's game prob a wash out anyway.

He shouldn't have had the opportunity to pitch the 5th inning.

At the very least the Sox are 10-2 against the O's. Would you rather be the Yankees, who are 5-5?
