Pawtucket....played for the Angels for a little while. Dude can bring it.

He had a 1.34 ERA in 40 relief innings for PAW. Hasn't pitched in the majors since 2013. SOX got him from the Angels.

Pardon my ignorance, but if Betts replaces JD in RF, is JD allowed to become the DH?

You can't replace a DH with a player who is already in the game.

JD playing RF is dumb. FFS Cora.

I think much of it has to do with how poorly benni has looked in CF when given the opportunity this year....

6 2/3 innings. Love E-Rod, but he is basically a 20 pitch per inning Pitcher, and that has to improve. Getting to an age, where this is not good. Needs to go deeper to help team more. Edited by OH FOY!

Kid at the end Breyer Briar ? His stuff was filthy !!! Have been waiting on a player like this to solidify the Bully awhile now and he's legit !!! Between him Craig,Velasquez ,Barnes ,Kelly ,Tyler we have a very deep pen now .Bearclaw would be nice but please go get either Realmutto or Gennette with the assets we have .Championships are won with a discovery like this guy .Pearce was also huge huge huge for the lineup .Very excited this morning on our games ahead .Please pull hard for Swihart ,if he can step in and be good holy s*** just get Gennette and we cruise through the playoffs . Fair response and It would be great to get 3 more outs out of him every start.

Price has gotten exactly 1/3 of an out more than erod per start.

For me...I’m less worried about our #4 SP that throws up zeroes into the 6th inning than I am about our $31MM “ace”...

I love E-Rod, honestly if he could get more efficient, he has the stuff to be in Cy Young candidate within a couple of years.

Coaching staff has to keep an eye on him he doesn't get the Price Syndrome, 5 minutes between pitches.

I dunno about that. As Slash said, he's our #4 guy. I'd rather have our #4 guy go 5 2/3 and give up zero runs than have him go 7 innings and give up 3 runs - which would still be pretty good for a #4.

Remember Ryan Dempster in 2013? He was our #4/5 guy. He'd give us six innings per start repeatedly and ended up with an ERA of about 4.50. IOW 3 runs in six innings. His ability to come through like that at the bottom of our rotation was a big part of our winning 97 games that year.

You can say that Dempster was overpaid that year (and Moon will :)) but that's not my problem. I'm more concerned about his contribution to the team an d ERod is making that kind of a contribution.

I look at age, he should be able to handle 7 innings easy. And he could if he was efficient. Dempster was up there in Age and a lot of innings. Also you think that his ceiling #4 Starter? If that's all he is going forward, then I must be wrong about his talent. I think he has the Talent of being a #2 on this team, THIS year.

Nobody averages 7 innings a start anymore. Sale led the majors in IP at 214 last year - 6.7 per start.

If ERod can average 6 that would be great.

5-2/3 scoreless baseball. WTF more do you want from your #4 SP.?????

7 or more innings once in a while would be nice.

It would help to keep the pen fresh for October.

This is kind of a deflection of the issue about ERod - he is not economical with his pitches.

It's kind of like saying "e mails!!!1!" Benghazzi" "What about Obumer?"

Yeah, Price is way overpaid and far less of what we thought we would be seeing. Most are disappointed with his production and concerned about what he can do for this team going forward.

E-Rod needs to improve.

Spare me talk about how the Sox win most of his starts. I know that s***. I want him to be able to pitch deeper into games so the pen never gets taxed by his short outings.

I agree with this 3rd baseman.

Kid down at Greenville who is 21 years old has more innings than E-Rod. 103 innings to E-Rods, 99.1 innings. Simply because he doesn't walk too many, or throw a ton of Pitches.

Again all I'm saying if they work on his pace and efficiency the sky is the limit for E-Rod. I think his talent exceeds Prices, at this point. When he is on he could throw a No-Hitter in any start. Edited by OH FOY!
