Abreu got to be faster than you think, to score from 1st on that.

Would have been out if Leon catches the ball though. Pale hose will win this one in part due to smart aggressive base running. BoSox will lose in part due to lack of it (Moreland). White Sox have also made plays in the field, the Red Sox have not.

Cora just let Barnes take us out of the game. That is what I don't get about the way Cora uses him. It will take a miracle now.

Were you complaining before the inning started? Otherwise it’s 20-20 hindsight.

Offensively, you are starting to see the effects of Betts not being able to play.

Boy this was a bad bad game all around except for the starter really. Moreland was putrid. The lineup was as some have described it too cute once again. We don't have many weapons at the moment. No timely hitting. Careless AB's. So the lineup matters.

I said three weeks ago that Barnes should not be used in these high leverage situations. More recently I have said he has shown some confidence since Smith went down. But what does that tell you? Barnes felt exposed in the bullpen with Smith coming around, like he was the guy exposed by a returning Carson Smith that was coming on. So he goes from that to pitching in high leverage almost every time out. I don't think so.

And don’t let anyone be misled, the White Sox have some good young pitchers. They took 2 of 3 last weekend from the Brewers who had the best record in the NL at the time. I look for them to be an improved team as the year goes on. You are going have to show up to beat them, not just throw your gloves on the field.

I do not wanna hear that crap. They’re a terrible team. I bet the skanks will take care of them cause they beat up on lousy teams.

What we really needed for this pen was Smith not to blow up and we need Thornburg to come back. Barnes is fine. Just not what we need where Cora now uses him every time out.

NOT a championship caliber team and we all know who is.. BORING team once again..

I miss when the red sox philosophy was to outslug you. This pitching and defense crap doesn't sit well with me. When I see guys batting under .200 and that is apparently acceptable...i just have to shake my head.

Sale, price, and porcello and you manage to drop 2 out of 3 to a horrible team. Nice going fellas

Starting pitching was not the problem for the Red Sox this series. I think they allowed 6 runs (5 earned) in what, 19 or 20 innings.

Like I said above, Betts being out of the line-up is starting to have an effect.

They should still beat up on this team betts or no betts. This series was an epic fail by this team. They have done this before already so not shocking.

Don’t really care if you want to hear it. It happens to be true.

Kind of a lack of energy out there and several plays which defined the weak effort.

The tailor made double play ball to Holt at 2nd and his poor throw in the dirt which would have made a double play difficult for Bogaerts. Then Bogaerts not picking the ball for even one out. It resulted in a run and a lot of extra pitches.

The ball hit by Moreland where he didn't hustle and would up with a single. No excuse for that.

Moreland's inability to catch the ball at first also was damaging.

Leon's inability to pick the ball and make the tag late

Even Beni's not taking 3rd on a long ball to center field seemed lazy. Who knows, a pass ball and your home.

So, a lack of energy and then the normal weak hitting down in the order. If we face good pitching our better hitters are not likely to get more than one for 4. Really, the Sox need help and having Mookie back would be a major step. Having Pedey back to anything like his old form would also help as he makes the plays at 2nd and may still be a threat at the plate. Hate to see us playing 500 ball as we will definitely not keep pace with the better clubs doing that.

DD and the front office needs to consider alternatives to some of out weak players. I know it is hard to do with the constraints, but the alternative of doing nothing doesn't look like a good plan.

And as much as we miss Mookie and love how he plays, an offense that fields Beni, XB, Devers, nunez and JD can't just fall apart because Mookie is not there. We are splitting home stands with the likes of the Tigers and WS. They have to pick up their game because Mookie not being there can't be an excuse. Mookie not being there does not cause the rest of them to play lousy baseball or it shouldn't. That sounds like Celtics Green teamer horse bleep.

Since the 17-2 start, the SOX are 27-20. The 27-20 is probably more indicative of what the SOX really are.

Which is still a 93 win team.

Sorry ....Dustin Pedroia needs to be replaced he's just not available enough ....time to move on .Scooter Ginnette is the answer .

Whom should the Red Sox trade for likely All Star second baseman Scooter Gennett?

Would Andrew Benintendi and Rafael Devers be enough/too much for a year and a half of Gennett and two-and-a-half years of 26-year-old third baseman Eugenio Suarez, who led the National League in RBI entering Sunday's games with a line of .298/.379/.569/.948 in 211 plate appearances?

I suspect that's what it would take.

The Yankees have better pen and position players ....Dustin Pedroia ,JBJ ,our catchers Devers ,Nunez have all been horrific never mind Swihart just cut the cord they ruined him here .....Way to many Holes .....the way Im seeing this season is either they replace Dustin and demote Devers for Moose and Ginette level players they have virtually no shot at a World Series in the Mookie Betts era .

There was definitely a lack of focus this entire series.

The DP ball was Devers covering 2nd due to the shift; he got the error. (personally, if you are going to shift, leave Bogaerts in his normal position and put Devers/Nunez on the right side, then only one guy is playing out of place).

As for pitching, don't let Lopez's record fool you. He's a very good young pitcher. There have been 4 games this year where he has gone 7 or more innings and allowed 2 hits or less. That's tied for the Major League lead with Jon Lester. He's got a lot of there there. As soon as he figures out consistency (and he will), he's going to be very tough.

Swihart was given way more chances than he ever deserved.

He ruined his own chances over and over.

Why not just go to the yankee forum, since you love them more?
