Gotta move faster than that defensively around the bases Nunny. It might be awhile before Nunny is the player he was before the knee. Can't tell because he has never been much of a defender.

Devers has made and will make I guess for a time every single kind of throwing mistake a 3rd baseman can make.

Well ...it's not going to be easy as we thought a week ago .Holes on the team showing up every night now ....Nuney butcher play and Devers not making plays he must ....if I'm a team at this point I'm trying to pull everything toward these two players .

Devers cost us last night and again tonight ...it's early and love the guy but he's a liability with the Glove more than we could have invisioned .

He has so far never IMO shown that he can throw from 3rd consistently. From the moment the ball hits his glove and assuming it sticks there (which is not really his problem) the rest becomes an adventure. Either he screws up the transition out of the glove or screws up the footwork into the throw or just flat blows the throw especially to anyplace other than 1st base and even 1st is a challenge. All I can say for his throwing from 3rd is that I would hate to have to remember what I was doing at his age. Maybe its gets better. But it is going to have to get a bunch better, not just a little.

He's my favorite player ...love his attitude love that swing .....he can't play 3b consistently enough it's been bad ....what do we do though ? We are stuck big time .The sad part is why the hell they didn't go get the guy playing in KC ...he would have made a hell of an apprentice to moose.

My previous comments were not to imply that Devers ability to catch it is that great. Notice that instead of getting down with his glove and coming up for the hop, he was up with his glove and stabbed down at the ball. That is a cardinal sin of infield play and Rafe makes that particular mistake over and over again.

He has so much work to do if he is going to stay at 3rd for any length of time and yes, when you consider how little Moose drew for money, he would sure have looked good in a Red Sox uni. The Sox could have groomed Rafi for 1st or at least taken the pressure off of him at 3rd.

I'm not trying to toot my own horn. I've been wrong too many times to do that.

I've always felt Devers should play 1B/DH, and we could have signed Moustakas to play 3B for the same money Moreland is making.

While Moose is no longer a clear plus defender, he's much better than RD.

We better hope Devers' learning curve is short.
