Slasher, I have spoken to many a sox fan. While they are aware that the sox have been the better team, they also know the randomness of the MLB post season and the idea of the Yanks partying in Fenway at the end of the ALDS is far too much to bear. Let's be honest, you've become a true A's fan since the Sox effectively wrapped up the division

lol. i wouldnt be opposed to the pinstripes having to fly across the country for a play in game. but honestly i havent spent a second rooting for the A's this season (outside of the handful of games they played the yankees).

if we meet in the ALDS i like our chances. that said...it would be awful to watch the MFY jumping up and down on our infield in October.

While it's always disappointing to see your enemy celebrate on your home turf, I will take a positive from this.

The Yanks have many young players and hopefully this will be ingrained in their minds and make them want to make sure it never happens again.

Now I just wonder if the sox had a new banner made in time.

Glad we don't put up banners for AL East championships........

No one does boring better than the NY Yankees.

I don’t think banners were invented the last time the Yankees won the division.....

2012 isn’t that far in the past.

Yanks clinch a PO spot today. If we go 5-3 to close out the year, we win 100. Crazy that a 100 win team is eliminated from contention in their division with 11 games to play. Insane run by the Sox this year

Yesterday showed the capability of our pen. Rather than having an opener then a starter, we had a pen day. The only “starter” who pitched was Gray and he went 2 innings. Interestingly enough, he was the only one who gave up any hits. All the others were lights out. Hicks did leave with a tight hammy. We should get some more info today as to the extent. My guess is he’ll be held out until the WC game

6-2 in last 8, including 4-1 vs Sox and TB. Now Magic number of 2 to snag HF in the WC game. If we go 3-2 to close out year, we win 100.

Hicks got good news on his hammy. No tears. Gleyber was rested with a foot bruise. Didi says he will play (we shall see).

Correction, nobody does tradition better than the NY Yankees.

Plus, if the Yanks put up a banner for every AL East Championship, AL Championship and WS Championship, they'd run out of room!!! (That would be 85 total)

I guess that's what an extra $50M does for ya............

Not sure anyone wants the starting job for the WC game. Tanaka wasn’t sharp from the beginning. Lots of missed locations and long counts. He’s been bad for two in a row. KRob blew up in this one too

That Shreve/Gallegos for Voit trade was kind of an afterthought at the time, but it may have ended up the best trade the Yanks made at the deadline. Obviously Happ was a big trade too, but we expected him to be good. Voit just came out of nowhere.

YES had a story on Voit after the acquisition saying that his exit velocities in the minors were insane and his pitch selection was above average lending them to believe he could be a good power hitter. Man, they were right on. The guy has a great eye and when he centers a ball, it leaves in a hurry. He’s looking like a building block going forward, which is awesome, and presents an interesting dilemma for us this offseason.

I'd like to see him for a full season before making any proclamations about him, but he sure as s*** looks legit right now

I agree. His BABIP is quite high, although its not entirely unreasonable for a high exit velo, high strikeout guy (see Judge). I do wonder whether we see Voit move to DH, Andujar to 1B and Machado to 3B

Ha!

Seriously, the Rays have been hit twice in this series, one of those resulting in a broken foot, and the Rays retaliate by throwing behind a guy and CC is mad? At who? Then you throw at a guy after warnings, get ejected, and walk off the field grabbing your crotch and calling someone a bitch? What a moron, seriously. If you're gonna throw at someone at least have some dignity about it.

Did you watch any of the games? The ball that hit Kiermaier was a slider that bounced. The ball that hit Bauers was an inside slider lefty on lefty that Bauer’s nearly swung at. The ball thrown at Romine was a 94 mph fastball behind his head. CC then hit the catcher in the leg. You don’t go behind the head for clearly unintentional hit batsmen. Behind the head is a dangerous spot as the natural instinct is to bring your head back when confronted with danger.

more importantly what obscenity did he shouted from the top of his lungs with his junk firmly grasp in his hand?

I believe he said "that was for you, bitch" as he pointed to Kittredge (the pitcher who threw behind Romine's head). I'm sure you'd be ok with what happened if Joe Kelly was the one who did it.
