Beats me. Cole had been solid up to the deadline, but the bloom is off the rose now. With an extended pen and a guy in scoring position, Cole was an odd and in retrospect, really stupid choice

Agreed. Right now, this team is reminding me of 2015. Different type of team as 2015 just aged all of a sudden, but same kind of pedantic performances. No life at all. That’s a problem for a young team. That’s on Boone. He’s got to fire this team up. A 1 and done in the WC after a terrible second half might see us have a third manager in three years

Sanchez needs to seriously be considered as trade bait, IMO. He’s had an injury plagued season, but when right he’s a damn good hitter. His defense is just not championship caliber and his value drops when you move him to DH. I seriously wonder if we’ll be in on Wilson Ramos and we see Sanchez dealt off for an ace

Sanchez dealt for an ace? His trade stock would be pretty low at the moment. Right now he's a DH with a 700 OPS + injury concerns + attitude concerns. Not a very attractive package. I think you'd be better trying to rehabilitate the guy somehow.

Severino just might be a victim of the so-called Verducci Effect because of his innings jump in 2017. Verducci only had 3 pitchers on his list for 2018. Severino was #3 on the list.

the kid had 1 (as in one) decent season with the bat. you know, before the league had a book on him he did OK. what has he done this year? .186 / .283 / .411 f***ing AAA player numbers. and with his HORRIFIC defense to go with those paltry offense stats? ahhahahahahah. you expect an ACE in return? smoke another brother.....

let me know when he makes adjustments. both with the bat and with the catching skills. he literally lost his starting job before the phantom DL and you think a backup catcher will fetch an ACE.

in the meantime, let me know some of these ACES you think you can get for Sanchez?

The Judge injury was a big blow. It would be like us losing Mookie.

No question the loss of Judge hurt. But if we lost Mookie , we could put J.D. in right and still have a decent DH. The Yanks wound up with Shane Robinson playing the outfield in some big games.

The Yanks haven't been a good team since they lost Judge. He is the lynchpin in the lineup. Didi being down hurts too. Sanchez is just in a tailspin. Until we are full strength, I expect some lagging. If we can get healthy before the POs, I think we can make some noise
