Boone once again doesn’t learn his lesson. Betances has been great of late in 1 inning outings. He sucks when you go for two. He blows the no no and the game

yeah i was pissed off about that too. I can't wait until Kahnle and Warren are healthy again.

This team is doing so well, when Bird comes back and we swamp him out for Hale or Cole... damn! It's going to be extremely fun to watch

Gleyber is a very professional hitter. I am very impressed. Great AB to take the game. We are killing it right now. Riding high with our top 3 on the mound going against Boston minus Sale in Yankee Stadium. We should do well!

BTW, Domingo German was dynamite. I told you all that this kid was solid. He gets a lot of Severino comparisons and they aren't without merit. High 90s fastball that moves, circle change with great bite, slider that is just wicked and location of all three. He just hadn't gotten the chance beyond some mop up duty to this point. JMont may not come back to a spot to pitch. German has top shelf ceiling and I am glad he is getting an opportunity, especially since Adams hasn't been great, Sheff isn't ready and Acevedo is on the shelf

I always expect to win when Sevy is pitching. We'll see what happens though.

me too

But if my memory serves me right, he was light up in his previous start against them

I know Boone will probably pitch Sevy in the 7th, but I'd put in Green for the 7th. Chapman in the 9th and I guess Robertson in the 8th, maybe Dellin?

Hoping tomorrow we go with a line up of...

Hicks CF

Judge RF

Didi SS

Stanton LF

Sanchez C

Gardner DH

Walker 1B

Torres 2B

Torreyes 3B

Giving Gardner a half a day off could help him, plus he is the only hitter with good stats against Procello, even though most of them are small sample sizes.

Definitely the greatest stretch of baseball I can remember them playing in a long time. Especially considering who they've been playing.

It's not just one guy either, seems like everyone is just doing alright too. Wait until a guy like Stanton starts to unleash. Guy could carry us for a month.

Tonight should be a good game, I think ERod has a good guy against us. I hope CC can go 6. Chapman and Green need the night off though. No sense is pitching them this much in May.

German struggled that inning but the last two runs are again on the umps. Clear swing on a would be strike three missed by the ump followed up with a two run single. Seeing some real bad umpiring of late

Actually, it's pretty darn good umpiring from my perspective. ;)

Todd Frazier from the Mets wants to have a players forum with Manfred and the umps due to the sad state of umpiring right now. When a guy like Frazier is looking to focus on umpiring, you know something is up

Still won the game! The A’s can hit, but their pitching is suspect. Walker once again in on the shenanigans in extras. The guys has been nails in late inning spots. Good win for us

Yanks are bringing up kids, like German, who has good stuff, getting valuable innings. While the Sox are signing 30 million dollar Players. And Pitching about the same value.

Might not matter this year, might too. They are getting Younger, and still have more in the Minors.

We don't. Sox better win it this year.

I still say the key to this season is going to be injuries. Especially to the Pitching Staffs. Usually as the season goes, Pitching determines the outcome.

This Yankee team has been incredibly fun to watch, but we are starting to see the roster crunch actually get the best our of our players.

Walker had sucked in April, but he's hitting over .340 in May and seems to be in on every late inning rally. He will currently occupy our 1B slot vs RHH until Bird returns

Speaking of Bird, he has 4 rehab games under his belt and hasn't started hitting yet. With the crunch above, I anticipate he will be in the minors for a fair amount of his rehab allotment or until injury necessitate

Miguel Andujar came up hitting like DiMaggio and Mantle in terms of EBH in his first 20 games. He has cooled off with the extra base hits, but is hitting over .300 on his recent hitting streak. During his hitting streak, all 8 hits are singles, though and he isn't taking walks. While he hasn't been abysmal defensively, he hasn't been good either. He is the guy on the bubble for me. If his bat doesn't heat up or his defense improve, he may end up in AAA for some more seasoning

Brandon Drury is now wearing tinted glasses and says his migraine issues are significantly improved. He just finished his rehab stay, but with the roster crunch, he has been optioned to AAA. He is hitting the ever living s*** out of the ball in the minors to the tune of .315/.433/.481. I expect him to be up very soon, probably as a replacement for Andujar, who may need a bit more time to hone his approach

Gleyber Torres has already provided 0.5WAR in 20 games. His slash line is .319/.360/.493 and he is playing lights out defense. His approach is that of a 10 year vet. He looks like he belongs. He is clutch. This kid has probably taken 2b and will be there for a long long time (unless SS gets freed up and he moved back there). I anticipate this kid will be the next Jeter type player.

Tyler Austin has 5HR in limited time. He has cooled off of late and has lost PT to Austin. He is the likeliest player optioned out when Bird returns. I think eventually he should get a long run on this club, but we have too much talent to wait him out. He might be better off as a trade candidate to a team that can give him run.

Clint Frazier is murdering the ball in AAA. His triple slash is ridiculous with a 1.000+ OPS and 4HR in 16 games. He is actually being called up today. I wonder who goes down? Either way, a good problem to have

I really hope Frazier gets the Torres treatment and we find ABs for him. Dude is a legit stud.

I would like that too, but I don't see it happening. We don't have the space like we did at 2b. Walker was a space holder from the start and when he started off poorly and Drury went down, an opening was made. I know Gardner isn't lighting the world on fire in the OF, but he is seeing a ton of pitches, reaching base 35% of the time and still wreaking havoc on the basepaths. Hicks isn't hitting well, but he is still walking and his .233 BABIP point towards an upswing. Even with his miserable slash line, he is worth 0.5WAR due mainly to his BB% and solid defense. I think the big thing is upside. When Gardner is on, he is a terror to face and a true leadoff hitter with solid defense in LF. When Hicks is on, he is a power hitting, high OBP switch hitter capable of playing elite defense. I know Frazier has the potential to be better than both, but the now isn't as sure fire as it seemed with Gleyber. I honestly think Frazier's time will come next yr. I doubt we pick up a $14 mil option on a 35 yr old Gardner. That'll leave LF or DH open depending on whether we plan to play Stanton out there. Or do we get Harper? Who knows

I like Hicks but last year he was pretty mediocre/below average at the plate for half of the season. He has a great eye but his bat to ball skills don't seem that great. Maybe that's who he is as a player?

And if Hicks continue to hit .220 I could see Frazier eating into his playing time.
