Of course if Jansen is lights out as he usually is, the Dodgers win and no one says much about pulling Hill.

This is true, but I do think managers are overdoing it a bit with pulling their starters early.

I agree. And the spiteful part of me sort of enjoys seeing stratagems like this blow up in the manager's face sometimes.

I love when a .240 hitter without much power gets beat by an 0-2 pitch but manages to hit a weak ground ball or pop up to the left side of the infield against an over shift on the right side of the diamond. I often think how if I were the pitcher how I would grab the manager by the throat at the end of the inning and tell him that I didn't need his help to get out the #8 hitter.

Cubs replaced their 3B coach with Butterfield. Um.....

Team must be desperate lol. In all seriousness they won a World Series last year and made it to the Conf finals against the best team in MLB. I am surprised they made much changes at all. I guess they lost that series pretty bad but still.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Astros win out at this point. Has any team ever gone undefeated at home in a single postseason since divisional play started? Every team that swept the WS back when there was no LCS, obviously, but has anyone ever won every home game from DS through LCS all the way to the WS?

No, the Stros set a record last night for 7th consecutive win

Wood vs. Morton, if Wood is on he's tough, if not long day for Dodgers. Before All-Star game he was 10-0 with a 1.67 era, after that just so-so, 6-3 with a 3.89 era.

Actually, they tied a record. I looked it up last night after I asked my question, out of curiosity. The 2008 Phillies went 7-0 at home in that postseason. The Astros will break that record, though, if they win out because the 2008 Phillies didn't go to 5 games in the DS or 7 in the NLCS or WS, so they had far less games to win at home.

I forgot the Sox signed Marwyn Gonzales in 2011 in the Rule 5 Draft, and dealt him to Houston, for Marco Duarte. That was a bad deal by Theo. We had our Brock Holt, didn't realize it. Edited by OH FOY!

Hell of a series so far. All three games have been exceptional.

Make that 4 games, and I entirely agree. I'm sort of rooting for the Astros because they are AL, but like seeing the Dodgers back in the thick of things. I remember the WS in the 1950's when radio was huge and inning by inning results were made known in school during day games--specifically Johnny Podres in the 1955 WS. Plus I think "Dodgers" is one of the really good team names in all of pro sports even though they were first the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers (and several other names before that). Still, the name reeks of American history. So too, sadly, the name of yankees, which the NYC team stole from New Englanders.

Well said!

And my bad I meant 4. Had some alcohol in me when I made that post haha.

I don't think that their name was ever "Trolley Dodgers." They did have other names, notably for about 15 year including the 1920's they were known as the Robins.

It has been a great series so far. I'm looking forward to an epic pitching matchup tonight.

I am still slightly favoring the Astros, but at this point, I really don't care who wins.

Kershaw looks on tonight. All Sox Pitchers should see that Kershaw lead the Majors in 1st Pitch Strikes 69% of the time. Tom Seaver always said most important pitch is the 1st Pitch.

Altuve was so determined in that AB. He blasted. A foul ball deep into the LF stands and he kept swinging from the heels knowing that Maeda had nothing to get him out. He is some player.
