Getting away from this sucky game for a moment...

I'm liking DiNardo in the booth. He seems to be comfortable there and has a lot of good stuff to say.

Also...

I'm appreciating OB more all the time. It seems like no matter who's in the booth with him he develops a quick rapport with them and gets them talking.

To be honest, I think Farrell managed this game like it was back in April or something. Starter not doing well, but battling--4 runs in 5 innings. Plus he was throwing low and well for awhile.

But those first two dingers were the telltale. On top of that, Porcello came out for the 6th throwing almost everything in the middle of the zone. As a minimum, the pitching coach had to be sent out. But Farrell gave every indication that somehow he was rooting for Porcello at the expense of the team and the game.

The other galling thing about Farrell is that he seems unaware that the Yankees are closing fast and this little old Jays game is important. In the 6th, if he was going to err, it should have been on the side of caution, especially when Porcello had already given up 2 dingers.

Barring a bog comeback, Porcello will lose his 16th game in 2017 -- 1 more than he lost in 2015. Before anyone starts win the win-loss record is a bad measure blah blah blah, try this on for size. He leads the league in hits surrendered and HRs. The guy sucks.

Why has he abandoned the sinker? He is not a power pitch that van pitch up in the zone.

His sinker is there except it isn't at the knees, most of everything is middle and up. Look for the 88-90 heater, that is his "sinker" that is groove to the max. Better off darting the corners away. teams are doing it to Boston all year.

He has been f***ing pathetic! Can't believe the season he had last year. Did he sell his soul for that type of year?

I'm starting to think the Sox should go for Stanton. Wake some these clowns up.

I'm beginning to agree with that. DD should be at least kicking the tires HARD on that, finding out what it would take. (And maybe he has. We don't know).

2011 got the manager that won a world series in 80+ years fired. Why has this dipshit Farrell has been immune? Cancer? f*** him.

True but boy that was an epic collapse. Right now this team looks like they're going through the motions. I hope I am wrong but I really see another collapse.

Mookie is a shadow of what he was last season.

Nunez jumped on the first pitch. Too bad that Betts couldn't get the bat on the fast ball. At least he has one good hit tonight.

I think its time to sit Porcello and give someone else a chance in his spot-Brian Johnson comes to mind. Might not be any better, but Porcello has been pretty consistently bad.

Good pitchers don't lose 16 games. That's what this rudimentary stat says compadre. As you said, he sucks, you don't need to look at stats to figure out.

I just looked at the historical record/schedule of games played for the Sox in 2011 and can report Farrell has got this team right on schedule for another disastrous September. It helps that this team can't hit and that team could. Unfortunately, the 2011 team had lousy pitching (ours this year has been good). But guess what? Right now no less than 4 of our starters are suspect. The ingredients are there for a terrible finish. Maybe it's time to get some beer and chicken for the starters who are off for the night. I mean, who needs the pain of watching loss after loss, right? At this point, Farrell might even want to join them.

Farrell teams came in last place twice. Yet he is still around.

Back to the 6th for a moment. I have been wondering why Vazquez was so completely passive while Porcello was getting hammered. Could he not see Porcello was throwing everything in the middle? Did he not know this was an important game?
