THIS!!!!

Price is known for playoff failure..... I'm not kidding I would be more comfortable with our rotation now in the playoffs. Not to mention Price fails in the playoffs after having an All Star like year. He has been average at absolute best this year and has missed a big portion of the season. No way would I feel comfortable with Price pitching against a team like the Astros or Guardians in the playoffs. That is a scary thought. If it happens it happens because he is still our number 3 guy but the man makes me nervous come playoffs. Last year he was an absolute joke after a superb year.

BTW - did everyone see the ceremonial first pitch of this game? it was quite possibly the funniest first pitch of all time.

Reading Jackie's comments this morning, he already had it in his mind that he was going to score from 1st on a wall ball. He supposedly sent a signal to Butter to send him if that situation arose.

So the players don't need coaches then?

Watching the Cards meltdown in the 9th is yet another reason to be grateful we have Kimbrel. Lights out closers are invaluable. You see it all the time. Teams struggle mightily to get those last three outs. Closing ain't easy.

Totally agreed.... Even look at Osuna with the Jays since the All Star Break... He has had a couple bad melt downs and hasn't been great lately.

I have now watched the final play of this game about 20 times on social media.

Maybe it's just the edibles speaking but boy I think that play is why I love baseball so much. There was so much to that sequence of events I could talk for hours about each aspect, every movement of the ball.

Yeah my team won so it's even sweeter. I just wanted to say if there is someone in your life that does not appreciate baseball, just get them to watch this play.

Pretty cool stuff.

I think I'm about as fascinated as you. Listening on the radio as it happened, it seemed like a blur to me. Watching it on my MLB app, Twitter, etc., it seems like Mookie's ball was going to hit higher up on the wall then it did, but then it was played so well, especially for somebody that doesn't get a whole lot of experience with the wall. The relay was perfect, exactly what you want to see. As an outfielder myself, I was always taught that if you're throwing home, it's better to one hop it than air mail it, and it was a perfect one hopper to Yadi, who had the plate covered in the perfect manner. How that ball got away from him is beyond me. Was it the classic human tendency to turn for the tag before you've secured the ball, or did he just have trouble with the hop for one of the rare instances in his fantastic career. And the slide by Jackie was as good as it could have been without steamrolling Molina. All around a very interesting play. A couple years ago, Yadi would've been blocking the plate, and JBJ would've just run into him, potentially landing both on the DL for an extended time.

Was a wild finish. My facebook was all over it as soon as I signed in lol. Been a while since I have seen a great ending like that. Would have been better if it was against the Yankees but we can do that this weekend to them. :)

It was the most exciting finish that I have seen in person since David Ortiz walk off 3 run home run against the Texas Rangers with 2 outs and 2 strikes. My memory told me that CJ Wilson was the victim, but was Otsuka.

Since this may be my last chance this year to relive this memory, every time I see Karton Wong come to bat I can't help but think of Wong getting picked off 1B to end the World Series. At least as priceless was the look on Beltran's face immediately after it happened. It spoke volumes titled "YOU. DUMB. f***!" LOL

It didn't end the WS, it was just the final out of game 4 in STL.

My bad. Given the circumstances it felt like that at the time though. :o

it was crazy though. especially the way the game the game before ended with the middlebrooks "obstruction".....

Watching that again brings a smile to my face. Koji was such a joy to watch.

Koji was fantastic! Haven't paid much attention to him since he came to the Cubs but I do miss his pitching style. Dude was a gem.

I still remember Gregg Zaun (covers Jays games and postseason games on Canadian sports network) talking about Middlebrooks having 'alligator arms' on that play.

I know. You used to be a 12 year old avid Sox fan and it weirded me out that someone that young was posting on here. Now you're all grown up like the rest of us!

Well to be fair, I had just turned 15 during the 2013 World Series. I was only that 12 year old for a brief 4 month period when I first joined

That is a solid fan. I didn't start getting into baseball till I was about 15 years old. Never really watched sports in elementary school. I started watching the Sox a year before they won the World Series. And then I learned the history of their World Series struggles and thought maybe I was a good luck charm lol.

Well, I've repeatedly stated that I don't remember the 2004 title run. I turned 6 during that postseason. All I remember is talking to my kindergarten teacher after each win in the ALCS, as we kept creeping closer and closer to making history. I remember nothing from the World Series, and not much after that until the 2007 playoffs. It's not really until 2008, however, that I can put together a full season of memories.

The funny thing about all that is that I'm pretty sure I just read that Mookie prefers batting lead off.

That would be funny. Irrelevant, but funny.
