Do you really want Moreland out there every day? He has been horrendous

Pretty much everybody is in 2nd half. Day 1 to now only Sale is doing great.

Everything about this team stinks right now. They have been unwatchable after the championship in 2013. They went out with a whimper last season .

Bogaerts is coasting all season.

Just 9 hits in his last 68 at bats. That's a 132 batting average. Abysmal! He's one our key guys.

I still feel like this team has underperformed all season. Very inconsistent. I thought this team would win 94 to 95 games. Looks like 85 games might be the mark for this team.

He was still batting 3rd about 2 weeks ago.

Wasting the #2 ERA in the AL on this trash offense.

Wasting the talents of a guy like Chris Sale and I agree about the pitching although porcello really laid an egg tonight. I am still waiting for Rodriguez to pitch a good game.

Boohoo for Porcello and the lack of run support. he has been horseshit all season long with his 4.55 ERA, a ton of hits and HRs. He doesn't fit for a weak hitting team. He needs a bashing lineup or he loses 15 to 30 games each year.

Lets see they are 3 out of the loss column for 2nd Wildcard. If they don't start focusing, about playing baseball, and stop the other non-sense, they will be out all together.

"Lack of run support" is one of the dumber things people worry about. Porcello has just stunk this year.

Once again, Porcello was not great, but he and the bullpen were good enough to keep the team in the game. We should be able to win a fair share of these games where our pitchers give up 4 runs, but lately we seem to lose every one of them. Our offense has been brutal in July.

Personally, I think our team has another good run in them.

Porcello has been pitching better of late. No, he was not great last night, but most of the time, 7IP with 4ER is good enough. With a 'normal' offense, which clearly we don't have, I'm satisfied with that line.

Last night's game is not on Porcello, nor are the 6 losses in his last 8 starts.

Agreed. He's been pretty decent lately.

3.59 ERA in his last 7 games. 3.06 in his last 5 games. The team has 2 wins in those 7 games.

And averaging close to 7 innings over that stretch.

For many, many, days. Began with sloppyfielding. Especiall nonchalant throws. That's why Linn should be playing SS these days. And while were at, it, why doesn't JF put his 3 best hitters in the 3, 4, 5 slots. Betts, Bradley, Pedroia. What order? Who cares!

He hasn't stunk, but more like decidedly mediocre.

Runs allowed:

1 2 times

2 2 times

3 7 times

4 5 times

5+ 6 times

He should have around a .500 record with those types of numbers (or rather the Sox should be around .500 in those games, they are 8-14 in Porcello starts).. You give up 5+ runs you are going to lose most of the time and 4 runs you should split at best. Games you give up 3 or less you should win a decent percentage. Yet the Sox are 3-8 in games where he has allowed 3 or less runs.

And one can disparage run support all they want, the Sox have been shut out 5 times in Porcello starts, meaning 0% chance of winning no matter how well he pitched. They have scored 2 runs or less 12 times n his 22 starts. OTOH, it hasn't been a total famine; they have scored 5 or more runs 9 times in games he's pitched, so it just seems like they never score for him.
