I love Fister's style. He works quick and doesn't mess around and challenges anyone............ I take Fister for the win....

 

d-money and I are going to have to be a game thread starting unit from now on. He wins the first game, and then I take the nod.......... it's unorthodox. but seems to be effective......

Uehara of the Cubs just struck out Longoria with 2 outs and 2 on. Cubs up 5-3 after 7 1/2. Rays come to bat just one more time.

 

A win tonight should mean 5 up on the Yankees and 6 on the Rays.

In his 2 starts for the Sox Fister went 5 against Toronto giving up 3 runs and 6 against the Angels giving up 3 runs. Rangers hitting is better than those two, but Fister could still do OK.

 

Sox continue to have a great record when they score 4 or more runs.

Vazquez catching his second straight game against a righty starter. But 4 lefty bats are still in the lineup. Vazquez caught Fister in his first two games.

 

I could be wrong, but I think Farrell is trying to match starters with catchers rather than the usual platoon.

Bargain night. No hits in 5 innings--perfect night to have Fister go sour. But a very late flight to Tampa.

I'm getting a little concerned about Scott. Any pitcher can have a bad outing or 2, but this is several games in a row he has given up runs, and often via the homer.

I'm kind of concerned about Scott, Boyer and Abad. Even Hembree and Barnes are a bit unreliable more than I'd wish.

 

We have hope that Ross or Carson Smith will return, and maybe someone from the farm can fill in, if someone fails or gets hurt: Workman, Taylor, Maddox or even Johnson returning from his injury to the pen.

 

We may even try to find this year's Ziegler.
