6 in a row and 8 out of 9 before tonight.

Now, we play 12 against division foes. It's time to put some space between us and our rivals.

4 @ TBR

(All Star Break)

4 vs NYY

4 vs TOR

followed by a 6 game west coast swing.

Don't let up! Kick some butt!

I see the Tampa series as tough if only because the Rays flew back yesterday afternoon/evening and the Sox flew to Tampa from Dallas early this morning. On top of which, the Rays have a winning record at home (and winning overall) and will see this as an opportunity to move up.

On our side, our four best--Sale, Pomeranz, Price, and Porcello--are pitching and we have probably seen the last of Fister. Surely ERod can make it back by right after the ASG break.

As I said on page 2, last night was, except for the late start, the perfect loss when the hitting and pitching were both absent.

I'm getting a little concerned about Scott. Any pitcher can have a bad outing or 2, but this is several games in a row he has given up runs, and often via the homer.

Scotts last 4 games. 3.1 ip. 5 H 5 ER

Farrell says he's over throwing.

As PA said, this weekend series with the Devil Rays is now a 'thing'. We have a fair lead on them, but we do not want to let them have any glimmer of hope that they can overtake us.

Fister will stay in the rotation through the break because the team will need 6 pitchers the week after the break, due to a double header make up game.

It was a nice streak. You can't win them all.

I don't think anyone can complain about winning 5 of 6 on the road so far. Win 3 of 4 in Tampa, and call it a very successful road trip to end the first half.

Nice run d-money and SoxHop!

That game was lame. Cashner was lucky AF.

At least we got Sale tonight.

It should be a touch pitching matchup tonight. The Rays pitcher is a youngster with a lower ERA than Sale in, I believe, his first 5 starts.

Prediction: Sale strikes out 13 tonight and wins 3-2.
I had the total number of runs right but the distribution was off. I was 1 short on the K's. My prediction career is being placed on hold as I refine my method.
